🚧 Friday Hill West Resurfacing Confirmed 🚧

We are pleased to announce that Friday Hill West will be resurfaced on Monday 6 July, following our continued campaigning for improvements to local roads across Hatch Lane and Highams Park North.

The works will take place between 8am and 5pm and will provide a smoother, safer road surface for residents, motorists and other road users.

⚠️ Please note:
• Parking will be suspended on the affected section between 8am and 5pm.
• Vehicles left within the work area may be removed.
• Temporary traffic management will be in place.
• Pedestrian access will be maintained wherever possible.

We know there is still much more to do. We have been working hard to press the Council for investment in our roads and pavements, and we continue to campaign for resurfacing and repair works on other roads across the ward.

If there is a road or pavement in your area that needs attention, please let us know. The more evidence we can provide to the Council, the stronger our case for securing future improvements.

Thank you for your continued support.

Safer Neighbourhood Walk

Dear Residents of Hatch Lane & Highams Park North,

We were pleased to join our local police colleagues today for a Safer Neighbourhood Walk across our ward.

During the walk, we discussed local hotspots with a shared determination to address concerns around crime and anti-social behaviour in these areas.

We are working closely with the police to take proactive steps to tackle these issues and ensure our streets remain safe, welcoming places for everyone.

Our priority is to support a community where residents can live, work, raise families, and visit in safety and confidence.

We remain fully committed to this important work and will continue to keep you updated on progress. Thank you to all those who joined us or shared their feedback your input is invaluable.

If you have any concerns or suggestions, please feel free to get in touch via the following:

Illegal Dumping of Builders’ Waste Urgent Action Taken

Dear Residents,

A concerned local resident recently contacted me regarding the illegal dumping of builders’ waste at Ching Court on Friday Hill.

I visited the site today and was deeply concerned to see a significant amount of construction debris dumped immediately adjacent to a nursery.

This represents a serious safety hazard for young children, who could easily sustain injuries if they come into contact with the waste.

I have reported the incident as a matter of urgency to the relevant authorities and am confident it will be cleared as quickly as possible.

We will not tolerate this kind of antisocial and illegal behaviour in our ward.

Fly-tipping not only damages our local environment but also endangers our community, particularly our most vulnerable residents.

If you witness any similar issues in or around the Hatch Lane & Highams Park North ward, please report them to us.

Your local councillors are:

• Cllr Siobhan Wing
• Cllr Shenise Adam
• Cllr Umar Ali

Today we had the great pleasure of meeting with Chair Claire Ford from the Friends of Pimp Hall Park & Nature Reserve.

She very kindly gave us a wonderful tour of the grounds, sharing her deep knowledge of the nature reserve and the wide range of activities they organise for the community. We was especially fascinated to learn the lovely story behind why the building is called Pimp Hall Dovecote.

It was a truly insightful and enjoyable meeting. Myself Cllr Siobhan Wing, Cllr Shenise Adam, Cllr Umar Ali are looking forward to building a warm, collaborative relationship with Claire Ford and the Friends group in the months ahead as we work together to support and celebrate this beautiful local treasure.

It was a profound honour and a truly heartwarming experience to join the Royal British Legion – Chingford Branch today as they celebrated their wonderful 90th anniversary, alongside the 44th anniversary of the Falklands War victory.

As Conservative Councillors for the Chingford area, we felt incredibly privileged to spend the afternoon surrounded by such remarkable veterans.

Their courage, sacrifice, and unbreakable spirit continue to inspire us every single day.

Listening to their stories filled our hearts with deep gratitude and pride for the freedoms we enjoy today because of them.

We offer our warmest thanks to the Royal British Legion Chingford Branch for their incredibly kind welcome and for putting together such a meaningful, moving, and beautifully organised event.

The tireless work you do supporting our Armed Forces community both veterans and serving personnel is so vitally important, and we stand firmly behind you in everything you do.

Thank you for keeping the spirit of remembrance alive and for honouring those who gave so much for our country.

We are truly grateful.
