LGBTQ+ people navigating homelessness are often forced to prove who they are over and over, to services that have already decided not to trust them.

This Pride, we're asking you to think about who gets left out. LGBTQ+ people are more likely to face homelessness because of rejection, discrimination and services that aren't built for them.
Stonewall Housing exists to change that. But funding has never been more uncertain.

Josh is one of our caseworkers based at our Eastbourne supported accommodation. For many of the people Josh supports, this kind of discrimination and abuse has led to them coming homeless.
Our supported accommodation is a space to feel safe and to be yourself.
If you or someone you know is facing abuse or discrimination, you are not alone. Reach out to Stonewall Housing at stonewallhousing.org or via the link in our bio.
Losing stable housing strips away the safety that mental health depends on.
For some, substances become a way to cope and that's something we understand without judgment.
For LGBTQ+ people, this is often made harder by the fact that many general homeless services feel unsafe or unwelcoming, leaving people with fewer places to turn at the moment they need support most.
That's why Stonewall Housing has dedicated Mental Health Advocates who truly understand the LGBTQ+ experience and can help you find a way through.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week.
Losing stable housing strips away the safety that mental health depends on. The uncertainty of not knowing where you'll sleep, combined with exposure to unsafe environments, can trigger or significantly worsen depression, anxiety and PTSD.
For LGBTQ+ people, this is often made harder by the fact that many general homeless services feel unsafe or unwelcoming, leaving people with fewer places to turn at the moment they need support most.
That's why Stonewall Housing has dedicated Mental Health Advocates who truly understand the LGBTQ+ experience.
Whether you're experiencing homelessness, living somewhere unsafe or worried about your housing situation our support is free, confidential and judgment free.

What if the process meant to help you find housing is too complex to navigate?
LGBTQ+ people are far more likely to experience homelessness and many are also neurodivergent. For neurodivergent people, systems that are already difficult become overwhelming. Barriers multiply when you add discrimination, family rejection or unsafe housing because of someone's gender identity or sexuality.
Services need to understand both neurodiversity and the q***r experience.
From those of us working in LGBTQ+ housing, we've seen first hand how inclusive housing support saves lives.
If you or someone you know needs help, reach out to Stonewall Housing for free, confidential housing support. Fill out the referral form on our website today or via the link in bio.
