The children within our Raindrops provision (2-3’s) have really been enjoying the story of ‘Whatever Next!’ by Jill Murphy.

They have listened to and retold the story, and enjoyed re-enacting it in their outdoor role-play.

Syreeta supported the children to make characters from the story to support this imaginary play. We also reenacted the scene of the picnic on the moon, so enjoyed by Baby Bear in the story.

We later prepared cheese and salad, jam, and honey sandwiches for the picnic. The children also enjoyed a selection of mixed fruit as one of their snacks, whilst we reminded one-another of the Startwell messages given to us by Five-a-day Faye and Two-Snacks Max.

To create a calm and immersive experience, sensory lights and relaxing moon-themed music were used to enhance our picnic.

What a lovely day!

Did you know that building strength and dexterity in children’s shoulders, arms and then hands is key to them becoming successful future writers?
