๐ŸŒˆ Happy Pride Month!

This June, we're celebrating the incredible LGBTQ+ foster carers across the East Midlands who provide love, support and life-changing care for children every day.

Itโ€™s a time to reflect on the fact that fostering is truly for everyone.

There is no such thing as a "typical" carer. What matters most is being able to offer a safe, stable and nurturing home where children feel free to be themselves.

We're proud to welcome foster carers from all backgrounds, identities and family structures. Diversity helps us build a fostering community that reflects the children and young people who need our support.

If you've ever thought about fostering but weren't sure if you fit the mould, Pride Month is your reminder that there isn't one.

๐Ÿ’œ Single, married or partnered
๐Ÿ’œ LGBTQ+ or ally
๐Ÿ’œ From any background or walk of life

What matters is your ability to provide care, stability and understanding when it's needed most.

Could you help shape a brighter future for a local child?

โ€ผ๏ธโ˜€๏ธ Hot Weather Advice โ€“ Nottinghamโ€™s Parks & Green Spaces โ˜€๏ธโ€ผ๏ธ

With high temperatures forecast over the coming days, weโ€™re asking everyone to enjoy Nottinghamโ€™s parks and green spaces responsibly and safely.

๐Ÿ”ฅ No barbecues โ€“ dry conditions significantly increase the risk of grass and woodland fires.

๐ŸŠ Please do not swim in lakes, rivers or other natural water bodies unless as part of an organised and appropriately managed activity. Open water can contain hidden hazards including underwater obstacles, cold water shock and sudden depth changes.

๐Ÿ’ง Stay hydrated, wear sun cream and seek shade during the hottest part of the day.

๐Ÿถ Please consider your pets. Hot weather, long walks and heated surfaces can quickly become dangerous for dogs.

๐ŸŒณ Early mornings and evenings are often the best times to enjoy our parks when temperatures are cooler.

Thank you for helping us keep Nottinghamโ€™s parks safe, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone

๐ŸŒก๏ธ When temperatures rise, your home can quickly become uncomfortably warm.

Try these simple tips to stay cooler indoors:

๐Ÿ  Close curtains or blinds on sun-facing windows
๐ŸŒ™ Open windows when it's cooler outside
๐Ÿ’ง Keep hydrated throughout the day
โ„๏ธ Use cool showers or damp cloths to cool down

Remember, it may be cooler outside in the shade than inside your home.

๐ŸŒ Today we celebrate Windrush Day.

It's an opportunity to recognise and honour the incredible contributions of the Windrush generation and their descendants, whose resilience, talent and determination have helped shape Nottingham and the UK.

From public services and healthcare to arts, culture, business and community leadership, their impact continues to be felt across our city and beyond.

Today, we celebrate their achievements, reflect on their legacy and say thank you for all they have contributed to our communities.
