Hi everyone ! I'm starting doing workshops at Hugo's every other Thursday evening ! First one will be next week, on the 16/12/21 7-9 pm and we'll be making Christmas Decorations together ! Book directly through my page The Very Crafty Countess or through the bar's page. It's a bargain workshop at £6 ! I'll also bring kits on the day if you catch the bug and want to make more at home. --- Lacomtesse xx

Hi Molly folks ! I am trying to set up an online shop and wondering what are people experiences with the different platforms ? I'd like to avoid Etsy, is Folksy any better ? Anyone got experience of selling directly through IG ? How about shopify and shopwired, what are the fees like ? Is the best option to get one's own website ? Any input appreciated.

The very talented poet Lytisha Tunbridge is looking for creative participants for her exciting new project “these hands made”. Get in touch with Lytisha if you’d like to be involved;

Hello,
I am developing a collaborative project entitled These Hands Made ….
I am hoping you might like to be involved?
I would love to be able to interview you about your creative activities and to take a few photos. The content of the photos will include your hands creating. My colleague Emma Wass would record your responses to the two questions: What do you create? How does creating this make you feel?
I will then curate the photos and your responses alongside other creatives to create a photo montage. That set of images will be interpreted in poetry by World Jam then shared on social media with the hashtag .
The aim is to create three montages over the next three months and invite the public to join in using .
This project is a practical part of my DYCP – developing your creative practice – for which I have received an Arts Council Grant to enable me to learn how to use the technology, how to utilise Social Media, and how to develop a sustainable practice.
If you are happy to spare me 15 – 20 minutes of your time, I would love to speak with you to arrange a time convenient to you over the next 2-3 weeks.
If you have any questions please feel free to call me on 07940494777 or email: [email protected].
I look forward to hearing from you in the next couple of days.

Hello MollyQueeners! Does anyone fancy joining in with a mini art mail project? We are looking for four other people to take part. You’ll receive a piece of art through the post, with art materials and a collage paper pack, you then add your mark to the piece and send it on to the next participant. It’s free (except postage - but we are happy to cover that if needed). See main post for details and register your interest. Participants will be selected on 16th May 💛

I’d really love to see people using this page to share creative events, projects or just ask questions, Nottingham has such an amazing collection of creative people and we at MQ are a particularly friendly bunch. If you’d like to share anything, please feel free to post on here, or send us a message and we’ll share for you.

I have a question for you creative people out there... I would like to create/print/order a branded notebook/sketchbook. I have an idea of the design and a logo, but I’m not sure where to go to get it done. I’d love to be eco friendly and also support a small business rather than use something commercial, but cost is also a factor. Can anyone advise?

Anyone fancy a spot of proofreading? I've written a new blog post for my creative self care project and I've reached the point where all the words merge into one... Will pay in tea and cake when we are allowed to meet once more

The MQ Collective is a bunch of creative people who are doing lots of creative things. We've come a long way since our beginnings back in 2010; with Marvellous markets, night markets, tonnes of community arts events, workshops and so much more under our belts.

It's exciting to be reforming the collective just before we enter this "new normal". If you'd like to know more about the artists from MQ and what they are up to, take a look at the thread below for introductions, links and project info. Excited to see where this takes us!
Peace and paintbrushes,
MQ

Anyone remember this painting?

Well that was a long hiatus... but guess what!? Great news! The MQ bunch have reconnected and made some shiny new friends along the way. We are looking forward to filling this page up with wonderful creative and inspiring stuff again. For anyone that wants to be involved, or is looking for a creative place to call home; to network, share events and support each other through this bizarre "new normal" then hello to you! And welcome back.
