Abernethy book lovers, your time is now! Looking for something a bit different to read over the summer? We have the very thing! Thanks to funding from , we've been able to invite Olga Wojtas, author of quirky historical crime novels featuring a time travelling librarian (yes, you did read that right!) to come and speak to us at Museum HQ. Olga's coming on Friday 26th June; doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Tickets are £5 and available now via our website - and from tomorrow (Saturday 20th) we'll also have some old school physical tickets for sale at Museum HQ. We'll have soft drinks and nibbles on the night, and you're welcome to BYOB if desired; as ever, if you're coming from outwith Abernethy parking is very limited so please car share or take public transport if you can!

This week's coincides with the start of the , celebrating all things Scottish agriculture, and takes us all the way back to the early 1900s (possibly even the late 1800s) with this farmer and his lad cracking on with the ploughing. We can't offer bragging rights for this one, cos we're not entirely sure who, where, or when, but if you know give us a shout in the comments!

If you're celebrating today, it's probably advisable to take a brolly with you! Not something these happy folks had to think about - we *think* it might be the Gattaway Davidsons at their family picnic, but don't know for certain. If any of their descendants are able to check the family album and let us know, we'd be very grateful! All that said, time for another scotch egg....

It's once again - seems to come round faster every week! This week's pic was sent in by Modrieanne McCullie back in 2024 - it's definitely stood the test of time! We love it - and mind, if you've got any cracking Tower pics, we'd love to see them - we always credit the photographer for any we feature on this page!

Today is Beer Day Britain 🍻
Who remembers enjoying a pint (or two!) at the Cree's Inn? What was your beer of choice, and how much did it cost?

A huge, huge thank you
To everyone who came along to our workshop today! We saw towers, dinosaurs, baskets, cats, and boats - there are some very talented bairns in Abernethy! Alas, we were having so much fun we forgot to take any pics of the creations - we'd love to see what your littles made, so drop a pic in the comments if you can!

The World Cup starts today! ⚽
These gents are the Abernethy Rovers, and it looks like they mean business. Let's hope Scotland adopt the same mentality for their games!
Details are sparse on this photo, so if you know who anyone in the team is, or when this picture was likely taken, leave a comment. (Also tell us who you will be supporting in this year's World Cup.)
