🐟 OPEN DAY SPOTLIGHT: THE FISH STALL 🐟

Our Fish Stall is always one of the most popular attractions at RNLI Peterhead Open Day, and this year we have some fantastic local seafood on offer thanks to the incredible generosity of local businesses.

Our beautiful haddocks were caught by the crew of the Guiding Light H90, generously donated by P&J Johnstone, and expertly filleted and vacuum packed by TheOldSmokehouse.

We are also delighted to have both hot and cold smoked salmon kindly donated by Ugie Salmon Smokehouse.

Seafood Ecosse have very generously donated fresh scallops and monkfish tails, while Amity Fish Company have kindly donated frozen scampi to help support the stall.

These donations help us raise vital funds for the RNLI while showcasing some of the fantastic seafood our local fishing industry has to offer. We are incredibly grateful to every business that has supported the stall and helped make it possible.

The Fish Stall regularly sells out, so if you’re hoping to pick up some seafood, be sure to arrive early!

🛟 MEET THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE PAGER 🛟

Meet Sandy, one of the navigators at RNLI Peterhead.

When the lifeboat launches, the crew rely on teamwork, skill and experience to reach those in need safely and quickly. As Navigator, Sandy plays a vital role in helping guide the lifeboat, monitoring its position, planning routes and supporting the Coxswain throughout a service.

Whether responding to an emergency close to shore or many miles out at sea, navigation is a crucial part of every launch.

Like all of our volunteer crew, Sandy gives up his time, day and night, to help keep people safe at sea.

At our Open Day you’ll have the chance to meet some of the people behind the pager and learn more about the roles that make up a lifeboat crew.

Every role matters. Every crew member counts.

Looking for a different way to experience Peterhead Open Day?

Thanks to the fantastic support of Intermara Marine, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy harbour boat trips and see Peterhead from a whole new perspective.

Take to the water, enjoy the views around the harbour and capture some fantastic photos along the way. Whether you’re a local or visiting for the first time, it’s a great chance to see Peterhead from a side that many people never get to experience.

⚓ Limited to 16 passengers per trip

🛟 MEET THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE PAGER 🛟

Meet Craig, one of the mechanics at RNLI Peterhead.

When the pager sounds, people often think first about the crew launching the lifeboat. But behind every launch is a team working hard to ensure the boat is ready to answer the call, whenever it’s needed.

As a mechanic, Craig helps maintain and prepare our Tamar Class lifeboat, RNLI 16-03, keeping her in peak condition and ready to respond in all conditions.

It’s a role that demands skill, dedication and attention to detail because when lives are at stake, reliability matters.

At our Open Day you’ll have the opportunity to meet some of the people who keep Peterhead’s lifeboat service running and learn more about the work that happens behind the scenes.

The lifeboat may be the star of the show, but it’s the people behind it who make lifesaving possible.
