A statue of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was unveiled outside the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi, Western Region, on November 6, 2024, in recognition of his administration’s development projects in the region.

These projects include the three-tier interchange at Takoradi, the Tarkwa–Takoradi road rehabilitation project, the reconstruction of the Takoradi Market Circle, the rehabilitation of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital, and several other significant infrastructure projects across the Western Region.

A few days later, NDC-sponsored hooligans vandalized the statue, took videos and pictures of the damage, and began circulating them on social media.

Today, we are being told that the Busunu Traditional Area intends to name the new Busunu STEM Girls SHS after President John Dramani Mahama’s mother, Mma Nneba.
