The Director General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, Major General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono, together with the Director of Port, Tebon Zumah Esq., Management members and Union Executives of the Authority, inspected sections of the GPHA Flats at Tema Community 5 affected by the recent flooding. The visit was aimed at assessing the extent of the damage and identifying appropriate interventions to support affected residents and facilitate recovery efforts.

🌱 Port of Tema Marks World Environment Day with Tree Planting Exercise
To commemorate World Environment Day, the Port of Tema, led by the Director of Port, Tebon Zumah Esq., undertook a tree planting exercise as part of efforts to promote environmental sustainability and enhance the port’s green landscape.
To encourage staff participation and ensure the long-term survival of the trees, the Director announced that the exercise would be organized as a competition among the various departments of the Authority. Departments will be assessed on the growth and maintenance of their trees, with an award to be presented to the department that demonstrates the most successful tree planting and nurturing efforts.
The initiative underscores the Port’s commitment to environmental stewardship and collective responsibility in creating a greener and healthier future.

Growing a Greener Future for Our Ports and Nation
The Director of Port, Tebon Zumah Esq., together with some members of Management, representatives of the Dzatabu Electoral Area led by the Assembly Member, Hon. Bernard Owusu-Bempah, and the Tema Metro Divisional MTTD Commander of Police, DSP Lena Nyanyo inspected roads within and around the Port of Tema to assess measures aimed at easing traffic congestion in the port enclave.
The visit formed part of ongoing efforts to improve traffic flow and operational efficiency for port users and surrounding communities. The Director of Port assured stakeholders of the Port’s commitment to implementing enhanced measures to address congestion and ensure smoother movement within the port corridor.

The Director of Port, Tebon Zumah Esq., today received the Acting Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Mr. Aaron Kanor and his delegation on a working visit at the Port of Tema.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to discuss ways of improving trade facilitation and ensuring greater efficiency within the Port.
Mr Kanor underscored the critical role of the Port of Tema in national revenue mobilisation while Mr Zumah Esq. reaffirmed the Port’s commitment to working closely with Customs and key stakeholders to ensure seamless port operations and cargo clearance
