To all departing OFWs, take note of this message posted by OWWA Admin. PY Caunanππ
There have been questions recently about the 6-hour policy in our OFW Lounges, so I wanted to share the context behind it.
We fully understand the plight of our OFWs, especially those coming from faraway provinces who are required to arrive early at the airport. We know that long trips and waiting before departure are not easy.
Everyday, about 4,000 to 6,000 OFWs leave the country, while the OFW Lounge has only 216 capacity in NAIA Terminal 3 and 140 in Terminal 1.
Before the implementation of the current policy a year ago, chances are the lounge will be full because of OFWs who are forced to arrive more than 12 hours before their flight due to distance of origin, travel schedule, or other circumstances. There are also a few that arrive a day or two before they leave. Because of this, some OFWs who are about to travel are no longer allowed to use the lounge because the facility is already full.
So this policy is being implemented to be fair to all and more OFWs will be given the chance to avail the limited space of our lounges and to ensure that those who will travel soon have a place to rest. However, when there is space available and we have our countrymen needing assistance, we still try to provide as much consideration as possible based on the situation.
Despite the limited space, almost 2 million OFWs were already served by our OFW Lounges in just one year. This shows the great need for this service. Because of this, we continue to improve, expand, and improve our facilities to benefit more OFWs.
In fact, this week we will open the new OFW Lounge at Mactan-Cebu International Airport. This is part of our ongoing efforts to bring OWWA Care closer and to expand the services we can provide to our countrymen.
Thank you very much for your feedback. This will help us to further improve our programs, facilities, and services for our OFWs.
OWWA pet. Service with a Heart.

PosoKanei: The new platform with 7,973 products and price comparison with Europe is live
The new service of the Ministry of Development is already available at posokanei.gov.gr and via mobile app - Price history, "smart" shopping cart, daily updates from the largest supermarket chains and comparison with EU average prices - Step by step how it works
The platform is already available at posokanei.gov.gr and via mobile app.
The operating modes of the system and its capabilities are described in detail with 22 questions and answers.
1. What is posokanei.gov.gr?
Answer: posokanei.gov.gr is a consumer product price comparison platform that allows citizens to view and compare prices from different retailers, monitor price history and organize their purchases through lists.
2. How do we access the platform?
Answer: We visit posokanei.gov.gr via a computer. At the same time, applications are available for Android and iOS so that users can also access it from mobile devices.
3. How many products does the platform currently include?
Answer: The first version of the platform includes approximately 10,000 product codes. The database is constantly updated and will be enriched with new product codes and categories.
4. How are the products organized?
Answer: The products have been classified into six main categories and individual subcategories. The categorization is based on data provided by Circana.
5. Which supermarkets do the prices come from?
Answer: The platform collects prices from the chains Galaxias, Sklavenitis, Chalkiadakis, SYNKA, Masoutis, My Market, AB Vassilopoulos, Kritikos, Market in and Lidl.
6. How are prices collected?
Answer: Prices are collected in two ways:
β’ Direct data provision from the chains Galaxias, SYNKA, Masoutis, AB Vassilopoulos, Market in and Lidl.
β’ Automated data collection (crawling) from the online stores of Sklavenitis, Chalkiadakis, My Market and Kritikos through the product SKUs.
Prices are updated daily.
7. When are prices updated?
Answer: Prices are updated on a daily basis either from the data provided by the chains themselves or through automated data collection mechanisms.
8. Can we see how the price of a product has evolved?
Answer: Yes. Through the price history, the user can monitor the price of the product over time.
9. How can a user find a product?
Answer: The search can be done either by the product title or by its barcode.
10. Is barcode scanning supported from a mobile phone?
Answer: Yes. Through the application, the user can scan the barcode of a product and be transferred directly to the search results for the specific code.
11. What do we see when we select a product?
12. Is it possible to compare prices with those abroad?
Answer: Yes. When the same product is found in European retail chains, the corresponding prices abroad are also displayed.
The countries currently covered are mainly Italy, France, Belgium, Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Spain.
13. What if someone knows a foreign store that is not on the platform?
Answer: They can suggest the relevant link through the platform. The suggestion is evaluated and, if it meets the criteria, it is added to the data sources.
14. Can we organize our purchases?
Answer: Yes. The user can create product lists and see the total cost of the products they have selected in the stores that have them.
15. Is this an electronic shopping cart?
Answer: No. The lists are informative and comparative in nature and no purchase is made through the platform.
16. How many lists can we create?
Answer: Each user can create up to five lists, with up to fifty products in each list.
17. Can we set quantities?
Answer: Yes. The user can define the quantities needed for each product in order to calculate the actual total cost of their purchases.
18. What is the βFind me cheaperβ function?
Answer: This function suggests cheaper alternative product options within the same category, helping the user reduce the total cost of their list.
19. Is the comparison made based on product characteristics?
Answer: No. The comparison is made mainly at the product category level and not based on a complete match of technical or quality characteristics.
20. How can a user contact the platform team?
Answer: There is a special contact form through which users can submit questions, comments or suggestions.
21. Is there help for new users?
Answer: Yes. The platform has a detailed help guide that explains all its basic functions.
22. How will the platform evolve in the future?
Answer: The project is dynamic and will evolve continuously. New product codes, new categories and additional data sources will be added, so that the platform provides an increasingly complete picture of the market to citizens.
Answer: The chains that have the product as well as its corresponding sales prices are displayed, so that the user can compare the available options.
