Diplomats from 27 missions support Athens Pride 2026! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Embassies and representatives of 27 diplomatic missions are proud to stand in solidarity with LGBTQI+ communities in Greece. We are honoured to participate in Athens Pride 2026 and to support this meaningful celebration of equality, inclusion, and human rights.

At a time when the value of inclusion is ever more apparent, and most needed, we reaffirm our shared commitment to societies where all people can live openly, safely, and with dignity. While recognising the progress that has been made in advancing equality, we also acknowledge that sustained effort is still required to ensure the full and equal participation of all individuals.

We reaffirm that le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r, and intersex persons are entitled to the full and equal enjoyment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms. In this spirit, we support equality before the law and freedom from discrimination in all areas of life, including social, economic, cultural, and public life.

As we join this year’s Athens Pride events and celebrations under the theme ‘It’s About You (Σε Αφορά)’, we highlight the importance of creating inclusive environments where diversity is respected, valued and protected, and where all individuals can live openly, safely, and with dignity. We invite others to stand with us in this shared commitment and to contribute to the continued building of more open, inclusive, and equitable societies.❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Celebrating Panathēnea in Athens ✨

Inspired by the creative energy of Slush, Panathēnea brings together innovators, artists, and entrepreneurs to explore ideas shaping the future.

We’re delighted to see strong Finnish presence at this year’s event: Peter Vesterbacka, co founder of Slush, is here as a mentor, sharing his experience in building global innovation communities. Finnish companies imagi and Ikon AI are also participating, showcasing Finnish strengths in education, creativity, and responsible technology.

From Helsinki to Athens, events like Panathēnea remind us how innovation connects people, cultures, and ideas — and how shared curiosity can spark new possibilities.

President Alexander Stubb visited Costa Navarino over the weekend, where he took part in the first Europe–Gulf Forum, hosted by Antenna Group and the Atlantic Council. The discussions brought together leaders and experts to address key global challenges — including developments in Iran and the wider Middle East, the situation in Ukraine, geopolitical and economic trends, as well as questions of defense, security, and the future of the rules based multilateral system.

During his visit, President Stubb also held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

President Stubb emphasized the importance of hearing perspectives directly from regional leaders. As he noted, the interests of Europe and the Gulf region are becoming increasingly interconnected, making dialogue and cooperation more essential than ever.
