So happy to share that we are starting a free community library for children in Rehabari, Guwahati.
The library will have a wonderful collection of books, comics, magazines and novels. There will be many other activities like storytelling, art, craft, drama along with learning to read, write and share - all free of cost.

Our NGO, ‘The Blue Ladder Trust’ was started in April 2022 with an aim to create safe and inclusive environment for children to develop Reading and Thinking skills. We reach out to 250+ children in underserved communities and support them to build their confidence to live wholesome and happy lives.

We believe in the for all and so we aim to provide easy access to high quality books and skill building opportunities to as many children as we can.

2 years back when we started storytelling online, we weren’t sure how this would go and if we would get children to read books in print. The school just wasn’t able to give in person time despite our continuation.

But now that we look back we feel so proud. Not only are the children reading from the collection we have share with the school library, they also don’t miss any session. We start getting calls if there is a delay of even a minute to start the session. 🙂
And so enthusiastically they do activities and share. When we have a recap of the story, they remember every word. The library cards get filled up quickly. What more can we ask for!

Hope this goes on and many many more children are inspired to read!
