An HIV, STI, TB, Hepatitis B & C Awareness-cum-Screening Camp was held today at District Jail, Hamren, West Karbi Anglong.

Organised by ICTC, District Hospital, Hamren in collaboration with Klirdap TI NGO, the camp reached inmates with awareness, counselling and screening services.

A total of 26 individuals were screened for HIV, Syphilis, HBsAg and HCV, while 4 sputum samples were collected for TB testing. The initiative helped strengthen early detection, timely guidance and linkage to care within correctional settings.

Today, 02-06-26, the Mobile ICTC Van under ASACS was launched and flagged off by Shri Aayush Garg, IAS, District Commissioner, Cachar, and Jt DHS, in presence of DISHA officials, ICTC, TI, and other staff of Cachar District.

On 30-05-2026, a Monthly Review Meeting of Mobilization for AIDS Sureshka was held at Joint DHS office, Nalbari. The meeting was chaired by Joint Director of Health Services, Nalbari District. Participants included the District AIDS Control Officer-Nalbari, DAPCU/DISHA staff, TI PMs, ICTC/PPTCT/STI/Sahyogis staff.

Key decisions included:
- All centers to collect and submit death certificates of LFUs.
- Centers to intensify efforts to obtain missing phone numbers of LFUs.
- Immediate action to ensure ICTC setup at Nalbari district hospital.
- TI NGOs to conduct compulsory screening of beneficiaries.
- Achievements through camps and awareness activities appreciated.
- Centers to verify and remove duplicate HIV-positive entries.
- Index testing made mandatory at all centers.
- LFU lists to be shared across centers for stronger follow-up.

An awareness and screening camp was conducted at Re-life Foundation Rehabilitation Centre, Nagaon, on 9 May 2026.

Organised by DSRC, SSK, Nagaon Medical College and Hospital, the camp focused on HIV/AIDS, STI/RTI, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and TB awareness.

The programme reached 60 participants, with 10 screened for HIV and Syphilis. All results were found non-reactive.

In the last week of April, awareness programmes on HIV/AIDS, TB, STI, ICTC and OST services were conducted at two schools in Sribhumi district.

The sessions were held at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Chandkhira on 29 April and Adarsha Vidyalaya, Lowairpoa on 30 April 2026.

A total of 104 students and teachers participated in the two programmes.

The sessions focused on prevention, timely testing, available services, and the importance of reducing stigma through correct information.
