A District-Level Buyer–Seller Meet was organized today at the Conference Hall of the DM Office, Unakoti District, under the chairmanship of District Magistrate & Collector Smt. Megha Jain, IAS. The programme was conducted in the presence of ADM & Collector (PP) Shri Sagar Sobhan Debnath, IAS.

More than 60 participants, including Self-Help Group (SHG) women entrepreneurs and prospective buyers, attended the event. SHG members showcased a wide range of locally produced products, attracting significant interest from buyers for procurement and future business collaborations.

The interaction provided a valuable platform for direct engagement between producers and buyers, facilitating market linkages and promoting locally made products. A roadmap was also prepared to strengthen local sales channels and enhance market access for SHG-produced goods, contributing to sustainable livelihoods and rural economic development in the district.

A District-Level Buyer–Seller Meet will be held on 01/06/2026 in the Conference Hall, DM Office, Kailashahar, Unakoti District.

Retailers, wholesalers, hotel owners, and others associated with marketing are cordially invited to attend the meet. During the event, a range of high-quality products locally produced by Women Self-Help Group (SHG) members will be showcased.

Interested buyers will have the opportunity to interact with the producers and may establish tie-ups for the regular procurement of these products through mutual consultation.

For the purpose of marketing promotion of SHG products, samples of SHG-made products from Unakoti District were handed over today at Polo Tower. The authorities of Polo Tower will review the quality of the products and may seek permission from their higher authority for the sale of these SHG products in the Hotel.

If the products are approved, we will further approach other districts to include their SHG products as well, for the betterment and empowerment of SHG Didis across the entire state..

Honorable Minister of State for Tribal Welfare, Shri Durgadas Uikey visited Unakoti District today. During his visit, he also inspected TRLM activities and toured the Agarbatti Unit at South Unakoti VC and the District Level Aggregation Centre-cum-Selling Outlet under Kumarghat Block. He also interacted with the SHG Didis and enquired about the product manufacturing process, income generation activities, and other related aspects.

Lastly, a gift hamper containing various SHG products was presented to him for promotional purpose through Smt. Megha Jain, IAS, Honorable DM & Collector.

The two-day district-level Prabin Sakhi training programme has been successfully completed under Unakoti District. Prabin Sakhis who will give doorstep service to elderly SHGs are developed in all four Blocks of Unakoti District.

All newly appointed Prabin Sakhis and Cluster Coordinator of SISD Incharge from all four Blocks attended this two days workshop.

Students from Ambedkar College, Fatikroy visited the BMMU Office of Gournagar Block, where an awareness and interactive session was conducted on the activities and rural livelihood initiatives of Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM).
During the session, the students were introduced to various initiatives undertaken by TRLM, including Self-Help Group (SHG) formation and strengthening, livelihood promotion activities, financial inclusion, skill development programmes, and other community-based interventions aimed at improving rural livelihoods.
The programme provided the students with valuable insights into grassroots development, women empowerment, and the role of community institutions in socio-economic transformation. The session was highly interactive and informative, enabling the students to better understand the implementation and impact of rural development programmes at the field level.

An Insurance Awareness Camp was organized at Dhanbilash Gram Panchayat for enrollment and renewal under the government social security schemes — Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
The camp was conducted by Smt. Krishna Sinha under Chandipur Block of Unakoti District. During the programme, local residents were made aware of the benefits, eligibility criteria, premium details, and enrollment process of the schemes. Beneficiaries were encouraged to avail themselves of these social security initiatives to ensure financial protection and pension security for their families.
