India faces a doctor-to-patient ratio that still hovers around 1:1000 on paper, yet the reality on the ground tells a far grimmer story. Every year, more than 20 lakh students appear for NEET, competing for barely 1.2 lakh MBBS seats officially available across the country. The effective success rate for securing a government medical seat becomes brutally low, turning the dreams of millions into a ruthless elimination process.

For an average aspirant, the journey itself is financially exhausting. Many middle-class families spend nearly ₹2.5 lakh or more on coaching, study materials, hostel fees, and preparation over the years, often sacrificing their savings and stability for a single examination that determines the future of their children.

Those unable to secure a seat in India are increasingly forced to migrate abroad to countries such as Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Nepal, or Bangladesh to pursue their medical education, not because they lack merit, but because the system lacks adequate opportunities.

What makes the situation even more alarming is the repeated controversy surrounding the integrity of the examination itself. An exam carrying the aspirations of millions has repeatedly been marred by allegations of leaks, cheating rackets, and systemic failures:

• 2016 — Early allegations emerged after NEET became the unified national medical entrance examination.
• 2018 — Reports surfaced of question papers circulating on WhatsApp before the examination in certain regions.
• 2021–2023 — Multiple solver gang and impersonation rackets were uncovered across states.
• 2024 — A massive nationwide controversy erupted, leading to CBI investigations and Supreme Court hearings.
• 2026 — Yet another major controversy surfaced, triggering demands for cancellation, re-examination, and fresh probes.

Critics argue that successive governments, particularly the BJP-led administration, have allowed the ecosystem surrounding NEET and coaching culture to evolve into a massive corporate industry, where education increasingly appears commercialized rather than accessible.

This is no longer just an examination issue — it is a question of educational justice, transparency, mental health, and the future of India’s healthcare system. A nation suffering from a shortage of doctors cannot afford a system where deserving students lose opportunities due to corruption, paper leaks, or structural inequality.

This discussion must move beyond social media outrage and become a nationwide movement demanding accountability, transparency, and large-scale reforms in medical education and entrance examinations.

সরকারি স্কুলগুলো কে কার্যত তুলে দেওয়ার সবরকম বন্দোবস্ত করে চলেছে এই রাজ্যের সরকার। শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থাকে গরীব ও পিছিয়ে পড়া পরিবারের ছেলেমেয়েদের থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন করার জন্যই মূলত এই পদক্ষেপ। একের পর এক স্কুলে পর্যাপ্ত শিক্ষক নেই, ল্যাব বন্ধ, স্কুল পরিকাঠামো ক্রমশ অস্তাচলে, শাসক গোষ্ঠীর মদতে স্কুল পরিচালন সমিতিগুলোর অকর্মণ্যতা এরকম অসংখ্য সমস্যার সাথে প্রতিদিন সম্মুখীন হচ্ছে স্কুলের সাধারণ ছাত্র ছাত্রীরা।
এরকমই কিছু সমস্যা নিয়ে ছাত্র ছাত্রীদের সাথে আলোচনা ও সংগঠনের প্রচারপত্র পৌঁছে দেওয়া হয় বাটানগর উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়, বাটানগর উচ্চ বালিকা বিদ্যালয়ে SFI বাটা মহেশতলা আঞ্চলিক কমিটির উদ্যোগে।
শিক্ষার স্বার্থে ছাত্রের সংগ্রাম, চলছে চলবে।

উত্তরবঙ্গের প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত মানুষের সাহায্যার্থে SFI, DYFI বাটা- মহেশতলা লোকাল কমিটির পক্ষ থেকে মল্লিক বাজারে গনসংগ্রহ কর্মসূচি সংগঠিত হয়। প্রচুর মানুষ সাহায্যের হাত বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন।
