The Ministry of Information, Communications and The Digital Economy (MOIC-DE) has responsibility for formulating, administering, managing and developing the Information, Broadcasting and Communication policy. In October, 2022, through an Executive Order No. 1/2022, the Ministry was split into two state Departments:

1. The State Department of ICT and Digital Economy.

The Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy today reaffirmed its support for the establishment of a National Addressing System for Kenya during stakeholder consultations on the proposed National Addressing Bill, 2025.

The consultations were held before the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Communication, Information and Innovation and brought together Members of Parliament, representatives from the Ministry and its agencies, as well as other stakeholders to deliberate on the proposed legislation.

Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Mr Steve Isaboke EBS, this morning officially closed the Cybergames 2026 competition, urging Kenyaโ€™s emerging cyber talent to rise to the challenge of securing the nationโ€™s digital future.

The high-level event, graced by the Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Hon. Juraj Blanรกr, brought together participants, winners and stakeholders who have spent the past two months competing in one of Kenyaโ€™s premier cybersecurity competitions.

The Government has reiterated its commitment to bridging the digital divide through aggressive infrastructure investment and targeted policy interventions aimed at rural communities and youth-led innovation. Broadcasting and Telecommunications Principal Secretary Stephen Isaboke, EBS, affirmed this strategy during a high-level panel session at the Global Growth and Opportunities event, hosted by the Gates Foundation earlier today.
