During his visit to Prague, Kenya’s Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Dr. , held a productive bilateral meeting with Ms. Marie Chatardová, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The discussions highlighted more than three decades of growing Czechia–Kenya relations and the strong momentum in our economic cooperation, including a 24.3% annual growth in Kenyan exports over the past five years and the signing of the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement in September 2025.

The meeting also reaffirmed the close cooperation between Czechia and Kenya across multilateral fora and showcased the tangible impact of our partnership in conservation, education, and culture.

Among the important milestones discussed was the recent “Return of the Bongos” conservation mission, which saw four critically endangered mountain bongos transferred from 🇨🇿 to the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya 🇰🇪. Appreciation was also expressed for the long-standing Czech medical scholarship programme supporting Kenyan students and for innovative community initiatives such as the eco-conscious Shanga Trails artisan project.

We are pleased that Dr. Sing'Oei also attended a meeting with the Czech-Kenya Interparliamentary Group.

The Embassy was pleased to see the continued strengthening of the enduring friendship between our two countries, delivering meaningful benefits for both our peoples.

Strengthening 🇨🇿🤝🇰🇪 ties through dialogue on global governance, security, and people-to-people connections.

It was a pleasure to welcome Kenya’s Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, , to Prague during — an important platform bringing together leaders and experts to discuss the future of international cooperation in an increasingly complex world.

During the conference, President Petr Pavel opened discussions focused on the state of multilateralism, global fragmentation, and the need for more resilient and inclusive international institutions fit for the 21st century. Dr. Sing’Oei also joined a high-level panel alongside former Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg, OAS Secretary for Multidimensional Security Ivan Marques, and Uruguayan Foreign Minister Mario Lubetkin to reflect on the evolving global order and the future of multilateral cooperation.

The visit also highlighted the strong bonds between our two countries beyond diplomacy and policy. A special moment was the meeting with members of the Kenyan diaspora community and their families in the Czech Republic — a vibrant community contributing to deeper 🇨🇿🇰🇪 connections through culture, education, business, and personal ties.

We thank Dr. Korir Sing’Oei and the Kenyan delegation for their visit and look forward to continued cooperation between Czechia and Kenya on regional and global priorities.
