At the KENAS World Accreditation Day 2026 Conformity Assessment Breakfast Forum held at Weston Hotel, Nairobi, our CEO emphasized the transformative role of accreditation in strengthening innovation, building trust, and advancing sustainability across Kenya’s quality ecosystem.

Bringing together medical laboratories, testing and calibration facilities, inspection bodies, manufacturers, agro-processors, MSMEs and other key players, the forum provided a dedicated platform for open dialogue on how accreditation serves as a strategic enabler of business growth rather than a regulatory burden.

He underscored that recent developments in Kenya’s legal and regulatory framework now firmly position accreditation as a cornerstone of quality infrastructure—opening opportunities for organisations to enhance credibility, meet regulatory requirements with confidence, and access regional and global markets.

KENAS remains committed to expanding accreditation coverage, deepening engagement, and strengthening capacity to better serve conformity assessment bodies across the country.

How do you know that the medical test you received, the school bus your child boarded, or the road you are using is safe and reliable?

The answer is accreditation.

This morning, KENAS was on Mwatu FM’s Twitwe Ita Breakfast Show sharing how accreditation touches everyday life and helps protect citizens while supporting the economy.

From hospitals and laboratories, to school buses, construction sites, and weighbridges, accreditation ensures that the people testing, inspecting, and certifying services are competent and trustworthy.

Accreditation may work behind the scenes, but its impact is in our daily lives.
