For the past three days, Principal Secretary State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs Mr. Joseph Motari has led the enrollment of new Inua Jamii beneficiaries across Ol Kalou Sub-County, ensuring that eligible households are brought into the programme to replace beneficiaries who have exited through natural attrition.
Ps Motari, presided over the exercise at Wiyumiririe in Kanjuri Ward, where he continued the commitment to strengthening social protection and ensuring that no eligible vulnerable Kenyan is left behind.
This replacement exercise is being undertaken across the country to maintain programme coverage and ensure that deserving beneficiaries continue to receive support under the Inua Jamii Programme.

Principal Secretary for Social Protection Joseph Motari presided over the enrollment of new Inua Jamii beneficiaries in Rurii and Mirangine Wards, Ol Kalou Sub-County, to replace those who have exited the programme through natural attrition.
The engagement also provided an opportunity to sensitize beneficiaries on the upcoming Proof of Life exercise, a key accountability measure aimed at ensuring that benefits reach the rightful recipients. Following a successful pilot phase in Kajiado County, the State Department is now preparing for the nationwide rollout of this important initiative.
Ps Motari was joined by his colleagues, PS Anne Wang’ombe (Gender) and PS Dr. Salome Muhia-Beacco (Correctional Services). During the visit, the State Department for Gender disbursed KSh 26 million to women’s groups through the Women Enterprise Fund, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to economic empowerment and social protection for vulnerable households.

PS Joseph M. Motari CBS, on Wednesay 13/5/2026 presided over the Pilot for Proof of Life exercise for Inua Jamii beneficiaries in Ilbisil, Kajiado Central Sub-County. The exercise aims to strengthen accountability and improve service delivery through biometric registration.
The nationwide exercise is scheduled to begin in June to end of July 2026. All beneficiaries MUST present themselves at designated biometric capture centres with their National ID cards. More information will be provided.

Government disburses March 2026 CT-OVC Programme Payment to 430,198 beneficiaries

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, through the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs, has disbursed Kshs. 2,426,278,000 for the payment of 1,213,139 beneficiaries under the Inua Jamii Programme, comprising Older Persons and Persons with Severe Disabilities. The payment covers the March 2026 payment Cycle.
To access funds beneficiaries are advised to dial *222 # Select Inua Jamii then follow prompt to withdraw at Agent or transfer funds to their number. Payment commenced on Tuesday 31st March 2026 and each beneficiary will receive Kshs. 2000.
Mr. Moses Kamau, Director, Directorate of Social Assistance, conducted spot checks at Mathare Vocational Training Centre, where he engaged with older persons and caregivers of persons with disabilities to obtain feedback about the programme.
