During today's official opening ceremony, the Kakamega Governor and County Patron, H.E. Fernandes Barasa, officially presented REREC with two prestigious 1st Position
Trophies:
1st Position – Best Stand in Energy Services and Conservation
1st Position – Best Government Stand that Best Interprets the Current Show Theme ("Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth")
These trophies are a testament to REREC’s leadership in deploying renewable energy innovations—such as solar irrigation and biogas solutions—that actively drive climate-smart agriculture and power rural economic growth .

Today, in Butere constituency, Kakamega County, REREC was privileged to host Mr Leonid Ashindu a commissioner at The Salaries & Renumeration Commission (SRC) during the launch of Lunyiko village rural electrification project.
When complete this project will benefit 220 homesteads at a cost of Kshs. 18M. Currently, in Butere constituency, REREC is implementing 8 projects at a cost of 75M to benefit 1,075 homesteads.
Also present were NuPea CEO, Justus Wabuyabo, West Kenya Regional Manager Eng. Michael Apudo and KPLC representatives.

Today, one of the directors from the Kenya Sugar Board who is also the Chief guest Mr Richard Magero officially launched the Ask Show by visiting our stand.

Later today, Mukhuma village, a rural Electrification project which has connected a total of 129 households to the national grid at a cost of Kshs 10.2 Million was commissioned by the Bumula constituency Member of Parliament Hon. jack Wamboka.
This project serves both domestic and commercial purposes.
Claire Wekesa who is one of the beneficiaries says that this power will enable her to have a chicken incubator for chicken farming.

Earlier today, REREC marked a significant milestone in Kisioyi village, West Bukusu ward as we officially commissioned a rural electrification program that has connected more than 47 households to the national grid at a cost of Kshs 7.1 million
For decades, residents of Kisioyi and many parts of Bumula Constituency in Bungoma county have lived without electricity affecting their economic and social prosperity.
Through this program, access to electricity is not only a basic necessity but also a key driver of economic growth, education and improved living standards. This is part of our broader commitment to ensuring that every part of Bumula Constituency is opened up and interlinked.
Residents expressed their gratitude, describing the project as a dream come true after years in darkness and waiting.

Today, the Ambassador of the Embassy of Egypt in Nairobi / سفارة جمهورية مصر العربية في نيروبي , H.E. Hatem Yousri Hosni, paid a courtesy call to REREC, where he was received by CEO, Dr. Rose Mkalama.
The discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration in renewable energy development, capacity building, and the advancement of renewable energy technologies to support sustainable development and energy access.
Also present during the meeting were Ms. Sara Elkhouly, Second Secretary and Political Affairs Officer at the Embassy of Egypt in Kenya, General Manager, Information, Education and Communication, Beatrice Njuguna, and Manager, Business Development, Edward Gakunju.

Today, we were delighted to host students at the REREC stand during the Machakos ASK National Show. The learners had an opportunity to interact with our team, explore various electrification and renewable energy projects, and gain insights into the role of sustainable energy in driving socio-economic development. Through such engagements, we continue to nurture curiosity, share knowledge, and inspire young minds to explore opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and the energy sector.
