Celebrating International Albinism Awareness Day.
13/06/2026
Today, the Council joined the global community in celebrating International Albinism Awareness Day 2026 at the Thika School for the Blind. Graced by CS Julius Migos Ogamba, EBS, Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Education, this year’s celebrations continue our committed journey of human rights across Kenya's counties. Under the theme, "Proudly in my skin: celebrating all skin tones," the event served as a call to eliminate stigma, promote self-acceptance, and advocate for the full recognition of the human rights and dignity of all persons with albinism.
Persons with albinism had the opportunity to showcase their talents, receive skin cancer screenings, and share their testimonies with the audience and our chief guest.
