Day One of the KEMIS Champion Teachers Training – Cohort II is underway!
Champion Teachers from Junior and Primary Schools across Nyeri, Embu, and Kitui Counties have joined a three-day virtual training program aimed at strengthening their capacity to support the effective implementation of KEMIS and drive digital transformation in their schools.
Together, we are building a more efficient, data-driven, and digitally empowered education sector.

Today marked the third and final day of KEMIS training for Primary and Junior School Champion Teachers under Cohort One.
The training brought together teachers from Samburu, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu, Taita Taveta, and Garissa counties, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively utilize the KEMIS platform in their schools.
The training continues tomorrow with the commencement of Cohort Two, which will run through Saturday.
Cohort Two training will target Champion Teachers from the counties of Nyeri, Embu and Kitui as the Ministry of Education and its partners continue building the capacity of teachers across the country to support the successful implementation of KEMIS.

The second day of KEMIS training for Champion Teachers from Primary and Junior Schools concluded today under Cohort 1 of 13.
The training forms part of a nationwide capacity-building initiative designed to equip teachers with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively utilize the KEMIS platform.
Through hands-on sessions and practical demonstrations, participants are being prepared to support the successful implementation of KEMIS in their respective schools, enhancing data management and improving access to accurate education information.
A total of 48,000 teachers are expected to be trained across the 13 cohorts, reinforcing the education sector's capacity to manage learner data and support evidence-based decision-making.
The ongoing training marks a significant step toward the full rollout and adoption of KEMIS across the country.

Additional trainers are currently undergoing training as part of preparations for the KEMIS Champion Teachers programme for Junior and Primary Schools, set to commence on Monday, 8th June 2026. The initiative aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to support the effective implementation of KEMIS in schools and strengthen capacity for system adoption at the institutional level.

Today signifies the successful completion of Cohort Seven of the KEMIS Training Programme for Heads of Institutions, which convened over 24,000 school leaders from across the nation. This programme has provided participants with the essential competencies necessary to facilitate the effective implementation of KEMIS in Junior and Primary schools. This aims at enhancing data-driven decision-making and education management on a national scale.

After three days of intensive engagement, the Board of Management (BOM) capacity-building program for Junior School Heads of Institutions (HOIs) and their board members in Bungoma County has come to a successful close today.
The training equipped participants with essential knowledge and skills in school governance, leadership, financial management, and policy implementation to enhance effective management of junior schools.
Participants expressed appreciation for the program, noting that the knowledge gained will strengthen collaboration between school leaders and boards, ultimately contributing to improved learning outcomes and institutional performance.
