Through UN Women Sri Lanka's Pathways to Peace initiative, she gained the skills and confidence to grow her business and is now training other women to earn incomes of their own.

In 2025, UN support helped strengthen women’s economic empowerment and leadership across Sri Lanka, contributing to more inclusive institutions, stronger communities and greater opportunities for women and girls to participate in public life.
