Duct tropo towards Tunisia which temperatures reached highs of 35 Degrees Celsius at the place of catch in Mellieha. It reached RDS levels by displaying ‘SFAX’. At the time, it was shadowing local XFM 100.2 on the same frequency. It is broadcasted from Tunisia’s Ksour-Essaf FM Transmitter with around 1 kW in transmission power that is approximately 310 kilometres away. 73 😊

Reception proved to be poor when the XHDATA D-808 was placed indoors but with earphones, the transmission could be heard a bit better. The music heard is ‘Shape of You’ by Ed Sheeran. According to Short Wave Info, transmissions are still ongoing from 07:00 AM to 00:00 AM (UTC+2) every day. It is broadcasting from Denmark’s Randers Transmitter that houses just 200 Watts (0.2 kW) which is approximately 2,310 kilometres away towards Randers. 73 😊

FM DX Radio Capital Lampedusa 105.2 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. It was caught on 27/01/2025 at around 13:30 PM (UTC+1). An unusual and rare tropo towards Lampedusa with a hint from Libya. Temperatures stood around 18 Degrees Celsius on a sunny day. It did not reach RDS levels but the reception was quite clear. The place of catch is a stone throw away from Ghar Lapsi, which this spot blocks Sicilian frequencies and makes room for Libyan frequencies and part of Tunisia. It is broadcasting from Italy’s Lampedusa FM Transmitter that houses an impressive just 63 watts (0.063 kW) which is approximately 165 kilometres away towards Lampedusa. 73 😊

Brief and weak opening towards the central Sahara region falling under Algeria. The TEF6686 did very quite well despite the conditions were very much weak and poor. It does not carry any RDS data. It was connected with the 7 Element Yagi Antenna. This is one of the weakest seasons that I am witnessing yet. It is broadcasting from Algeria’s In Salah FM Transmitter that houses around 10 kW in transmission power which is approximately 1,490 kilometres away towards Tamanghasset. 73 😊

The TEF6686 did quite well whilst connected with the 7 Element Yagi Antenna. RDS levels were reached by displaying ‘* RP1 *’ whilst its PI Code ‘5BF4’. Jingle ident heard by 1:49 by featuring ‘Summertime’. By 02:12, Gianni Acosta was mentioned being the DJ for the next hour of 1 AM playing 90s Dance Hits. Sadly, this station is no longer active as this served as the main station for the Pozzallo area but statistics shown that larger stations continued to take audience share. It used to be broadcasting from Sicily’s Pozzallo FM Transmitter that houses an unknown transmission power that was approximately 100 kilometres away towards Pozzallo. 73 😊

Temperatures soared around 28 Degrees Celsius. The place of catch is around Triq L-Imdina in H’Attard which it is a perfect open spot for catches. It began shadowing Sicilian stations to a surprise.
