Yesterday RIU officers were approached in Ħaż-Żebbuġ and informed that a person was lying unconscious on the ground.

The officers immediately located the person, who was unconscious and not breathing. PC956 J. Buhagiar started CPR, alternating with PC1431 W. Galea. An off-duty Civil Protection Department officer also assisted our officers on site until the medical team arrived.

Once medical assistance arrived, our officers continued supporting the response by managing traffic and ensuring road safety while the medical team provided further care.

Before the person was conveyed to Mater Dei Hospital for further medical observation, the officers were informed that the person had started breathing again 💙

The Malta Police Force also received a message of appreciation from an A&E doctor, who commended the RIU team for their swift action, stating that they “gave him a fighting chance”.

🇬🇧 Update: Road has been reopened.

Drivers are advised to avoid Triq iż-Żejfa and Triq il-Missjunarji Maltin in Mosta due to a traffic accident involving several vehicles.

The public is urged to avoid the area and follow the instructions issued by the authorities.

🇲🇹 Ħidma tal-pulizija twassal għall-arrest ta’ raġel u mara wara sorveljanza b’rabta ma’ traffikar ta’ droga.

Ir-raġel twaqqaf mill-Pulizija f’Ħal Farruġ, fejn minn tfittxija li saret fuqu nstabet blokka ta’ sustanza suspettata eroina filwaqt li minn tfittxija f’ħajt fil-viċin instabu żewġ blokok oħra tal-istess droga.

Waqt tfittxijiet oħra li saru fir-residenza tar-raġel f'Ħal Għaxaq u f'oħra f'Ħal Tarxien, fejn ġiet arrestat l-mara, instab ammont konsiderevoli ta’ flus kontanti, numru ta’ mowbajls u oġġetti oħra relatati mat-traffikar tad-droga.

Ir-raġel mistenni jitressaq il-qorti dalgħodu filwaqt li l-investigazzjoni għadhom għaddejjin.

🇬🇧 Police investigations led to the arrest of a man and a woman following surveillance in connection with drug trafficking.

The man was stopped by the Police in Ħal Farruġ, where a search carried out on him led to the discovery of a block of substance suspected to be he**in. During a search in a nearby wall, another two blocks of the same drug were found.

Further searches carried out at the man’s residence in Ghaxaq and at another residence in Ħal Tarxien, where the woman was arrested, led to the discovery of a considerable amount of cash, a number of mobile phones and other items related to drug trafficking.

The man is expected to be arraigned in court this morning, while investigations are still ongoing.

🇲🇹 Ġuvni ġie arrestat ilbieraħ mill-Pulizija wara sorveljanza b’rabta mat-traffikar ta’ droga f’Ħal Għaxaq.

Minn tfittxija li saret fuq il-ġuvni nstabu 53 qartas b’sustanza suspettata kokaina, 11-il qartas b’sustanza suspettata eroina u 3 qratas b’sustanza suspettata kannabis sintetika. Ġew elevati wkoll mobiles, kif ukoll oġġetti oħra relatati mat-traffikar tad-droga u flus kontanti.

Il-ġuvni mistenni jitressaq il-qorti dalgħodu.

🇬🇧 A youth was arrested yesterday by the Police following surveillance in connection with drug trafficking in Għaxaq.

From a search carried out on the youth, 53 sachets containing suspected co***ne were found, 11 sachets containing suspected he**in and 3 sachets containing suspected synthetic cannabis. Mobiles were also seized, as well as other items related to drug trafficking and cash.

The youth is expected to be arraigned in Court this morning.
