Xjenza Malta together with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) have launched the EIT Regional Innovation Booster.
This programme is designed to support high-potential Maltese Start-Ups and SMEs with market-ready solutions, helping them to expand internationally and accelerate their growth with financial support of up to €90,000 throughout the programme stages. Selected participants will have the opportunity to get expert guidance from European innovation leaders.

Xjenza Malta hosted the latest European Research Area (ERA) Forum meeting this week in Malta.
Over two days of discussions, the meeting was proudly co-chaired by Jacqueline Grech from Xjenza Malta, who serves as the Member States' co-chair for the ERA Forum, representing the collective interests of EU countries in shaping ERA policy. The meeting was attended by over 35 representatives from across EU Member States and Associated Countries, along with various stakeholder groups, to discuss key ERA priorities, strengthen collaboration, and advance our shared vision for research and innovation.
Malta had the opportunity of showcasing how it is making the most of its participation in ERA activities to drive progress within its research and innovation ecosystem while contributing to broader European objectives.

The ESA - European Space Agency and Xjenza Malta have just launched the Fourth Fixed Call for Proposals under PECS 2026 in Malta, along with a PhD research call.
Funding opportunities ranging from €75,000 to €400,000 are available across R&D, space science, downstream applications, education initiatives, and industry-driven PhD research.
The calls provide opportunities for Maltese businesses, universities, research institutions, and innovators to develop new technologies, products, services, and scientific capabilities, with potential relevance for sectors including finance, insurance, biotech, AI, cybersecurity, and digital services.
This is a great opportunity to increasingly leverage space technologies and data to innovate within the rapidly growing European space economy.

Xjenza Malta participated in the 33rd Annual Engineering Conference- Engineering the Next Decade: Advancing Smart Industry & Sustainable Infrastructure.
During the event, Dr Melchior Cini, our Director for R&I, gave a presentation about the four new initiatives under the FUSION Go To Market programme. The four new R&I initiatives are designed to facilitate the transition from innovation and product development to market validation, scaling, and commercial growth, helping bridge the gap between research excellence and real-world impact.
