KUALA LUMPUR – Lembaga Jurutera Malaysia (LJM) mengambil maklum laporan media Malay Mail bertarikh 10 Jun 2026 bertajuk "Engineering Consultants Push For 40 – 50pc Hike ss Fees Stagnate Since 1983" berkaitan cadangan pindaan Skala Fi perkhidmatan kejuruteraan profesional.
LJM ingin memaklumkan bahawa Skala Fi dipinda kali terakhir pada tahun 1998 dan disemak semula sejak tahun 2020.
Cadangan pindaan terkini terhadap Skala Fi, kini berada di peringkat akhir proses perundangan dan sedang melalui semakan oleh Jabatan Peguam Negara sebelum diwartakan pada tahun 2026.
Perlu difahami bahawa kadar Skala Fi ditentukan berdasarkan kos komponen kejuruteraan yang terlibat dalam projek pembinaan. Sehubungan itu, apabila kos pembinaan meningkat dari semasa ke semasa, jumlah Skala Fi ini juga akan berubah selaras dengan peratusan yang ditetapkan berdasarkan nilai projek berkenaan.
Selain itu, cadangan pindaan ini turut melibatkan kenaikan kadar minimum Skala Fi, bergantung kepada nilai komponen kejuruteraan sesuatu projek. Pelarasan ini dibuat bagi memastikan kadar bayaran profesional lebih sejajar dengan kos operasi semasa, tahap tanggungjawab profesional yang semakin kompleks serta amalan badan profesional lain dalam industri pembinaan.
Di samping itu, pindaan Skala Fi turut memperkenalkan kaedah pengiraan fi berasaskan peratusan daripada jumlah kos pembinaan projek bagi mengambil kira pelaksanaan projek-projek pembangunan masa kini.
Langkah ini penting dalam memastikan kelestarian profesion kejuruteraan serta mengekalkan standard profesionalisme yang tinggi dalam penyampaian perkhidmatan kejuruteraan. Ia juga bertujuan memastikan aspek kualiti reka bentuk, keselamatan awam dan tadbir urus projek terus diperkukuh selaras dengan keperluan pembangunan negara dan unjuran ekonomi semasa.
LJM terus komited untuk memastikan sebarang pelaksanaan pindaan Skala Fi dibuat secara teratur, telus dan mengambil kira kepentingan semua pihak berkepentingan dalam industri pembinaan negara.

Advancing Regulatory Excellence: BEM Official Visit to CIDB
lBEM conducted an official visit to the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen regulatory excellence and enhance enforcement capabilities.
The visit served as a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and discussions on enforcement mechanisms, particularly in relation to case management, prosecution processes, investigation procedures, and other related regulatory matters. Through this engagement, both organisations exchanged insights and best practices aimed at promoting effective compliance, governance, and enforcement frameworks.
This initiative is aligned with BEM Strategic Plan 2026–2030, Thrust 2.1.1, which focuses on strengthening legal authority and enforcement through regulatory reforms, clearer regulatory justification, and effective enforcement actions.

Courtesy Visit from Yayasan Penyayang Iskandar Puteri (YPIP) to the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)
BEM was pleased to receive a courtesy visit from YPIP to discuss a proposed collaboration on the Road to PE: Professional Engineer (Ir.) Programme.
The proposed outreach programme aims to raise awareness on the importance of registration with BEM, encourage more Graduate Engineers to pursue Professional Engineer (Ir.) status and enhance the competency of engineering professionals in Malaysia.
This initiative also supports the development of a highly skilled engineering workforce in line with the aspirations of Iskandar Puteri as a smart and sustainable city.
BEM looks forward to collaborating with YPIP in empowering engineers through professional development and lifelong learning.
