Silent Teddies ❤️🤟🏻

Thank You to Persatuan Penganut Chong Seen Fatt Kuala Lumpur dan Selangor 慷慨解囊, 善举可敬
谨致以诚挚谢意 for nominating us as one of the beneficiaries of this meaningful charity event. We are truly touched and honoured to receive the generous contribution of RM30,000 alongside the other organisations.
This special occasion was made even more meaningful as the Silent Teddies Team was also given the opportunity to contribute and spread joy during the event. The team lovingly distributed free young coconuts to the underprivileged residents at one of the homes, sharing not only refreshments but also warmth, care, and smiles with the community.
We sincerely thank Persatuan Penganut Chong Seen Fatt for your kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. Your compassion inspires us continue serving and uplifting the Deaf community and those in need. Together, we can create a more caring and inclusive society for all. ❤️

At Silent Teddies Bakery (@silentteddiesmy) in Kuala Lumpur, most of the team is Deaf or Hard of Hearing — and every cookie that leaves the kitchen carries their skill, their care, and their pride.

Founded by the Community Service Centre for the Deaf (CSCD), Silent Teddies offers vocational training, employment, and a real workplace for a community too often left out of conversations about jobs and opportunity. Many of the team have gone on to find further employment elsewhere — a quiet but powerful reminder of what's possible when people are given the chance to thrive.

And now, after years in the making, Silent Teddies has opened a new chapter: a full bakery café in Kuala Lumpur, with a learning centre, training space, and an event area with a small gallery. Since its soft launch, more than 100 people have learned sign language through their workshops, and a new generation of Deaf baristas have trained in the craft of brewing, serving, and running the floor.

Every cookie, cup, and conversation here is part of something bigger: continuing CSCD's work in providing free education and a sense of home for the Deaf community.

Stories like this don't write themselves — they're built by people who care, over many years. Yayasan Hasanah @yayasan_hasanah is grateful to have walked part of this road with them, through the Hasanah Social Enterprise Fund (HSEF) @hasanah.socialenterprise, in partnership with the Ministry of Finance (M*F) @mof_malaysia.

How you can help: book the café for your next event or gathering, order a box of cookies, sign up for a sign language workshop, or share this post.
