Ever thought of Russia as a Muslim-friendly destination? Well, ITC is working on it!

From Malaysiaโ€™s growing commitment to Muslim-friendly tourism, a wider story is unfolding across the globe. ๐ŸŒ

What began as an effort to strengthen standards of comfort, assurance, and accessibility for Muslim travellers through the Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality Assurance and Recognition (MFAR) framework is now reaching new horizons.

Today, that journey continues in Russia, a meaningful step that reflects how understanding and inclusivity in tourism are expanding beyond borders.

And this is only the beginning. From this land, more Muslim-friendly products and services are set to emerge, adding new chapters to a global story of connection, care, and shared travel experiences for Muslim travellers everywhere.

What role does a restaurant play in tourism?

It is more than simply serving meals.

On 8 June at Le Mรฉridien Petaling Jaya, Tuan Mohammad Faisal Abu Suaib Khan, Director-General of Islamic Tourism Centre, delivered a talk at the Seminar Memperkasa Kepimpinan Operasi Dalam Membangunkan Ekosistem Hospitaliti Halal Malaysia ke Arah Standard Global, highlighting the important role of the food and beverage sector within Malaysiaโ€™s tourism ecosystem.

As the global Muslim travel market continues to expand, halal-certified establishments are becoming increasingly important in providing trusted, comfortable and meaningful experiences for visitors.

His key message was simple yet powerful: businesses are not merely serving food; they are delivering hospitality, building confidence and helping shape travellersโ€™ perceptions of Malaysia.

Every dining experience is an opportunity to showcase the warmth, professionalism and values that have made Malaysia a leading Muslim-friendly tourism destination.
