VNG WALKS THE TALK

The MOU that Council entered into on the 13 May 2026 valued at N$ 28 million with the VNG International an International Cooperation Agency of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities, during the Namibia-EU Business Summit 2026 came to fruition with a host of kick-off meetings during the week of the 15 June 2026. The Project will run for a period of 2 and 1/2 years under the theme, "Making Lüderitz Town Council fit for the future" focused on an improved Council where services are enhanced. The project will enlist two engineers during its tenure with the following focus areas, a). Institutional strengthening, b). Bankable pipeline infrastructure and c). Financial sustainability. The VNG Team comprising of Dr. Anton Olivier from Namibia accompanied by Mr. Karim Boussak and Mrs. Michelle van Raake from the Kingdom the Netherlands are conducting a week long assessment and readiness for the start of the Project. VNG aims at using public participation to build better futures by strengthening local governance.
