The Office of the Ombudsman of Namibia had the privilege of a courtesy visit from Dr. Mary Shuttleworth, President of Youth for Human Rights International, during her visit to Namibia. The proposed engagement aims to strengthen collaboration on human rights education, youth empowerment, civic participation, and the promotion of a culture of human rights within our communities.

The Deputy Chief of the Office of the Ombudsman Mr. Mauyoma, Chairperson of Cluster Three of the Namibian National African Charter, is delivering a presentation on Chapter 4: Rights of Public Service Agents at the workshop currently underway at NIPAM. The presentation focuses on the progress made in implementing the recommendations of the Third Conference of State Parties and the African Charter Implementation Plan. The workshop is scheduled to conclude on 5 June 2026.

Today, 4 June 2026, Adv. Basilius Dyakugha the Ombudsman of Namibia attended the launch of the African Media Barometer Report 2026 at the NMT Media Foundation in Windhoek.
The report assesses the state of media freedom and freedom of expression, providing an overview of the progress, challenges, and opportunities within the media landscape.

Engagement in Keetmanshoop: 13 May 2026. Mr. Sylvester Sibungo, Regional Head of the Office of the Ombudsman, together with Deputy Director of Administration Mr. Nambala, met with representatives from Keetmanshoop Municipality and the Department of Works to deliberate on matters of an administrative nature.
