The PEBEC Secretariat team held a Reportgov.ng platform training session with officials from the FCT Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS), often known as the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) earlier today. The VIO team was led by Mr. Julius Iwuafor, the Head of SERVICOM.

We are excited that FCT VIO is now active on the reportgov.ng platform. ReportGov.ng is a platform for providing feedback on the quality of service offered by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

On March 23, 2022, The Federal Executive Council (FEC) thoroughly examined and considered the impact of the Omnibus bill and subject to the incorporation of some minor amendments, approved the Bill for transmission to the National Assembly.

The Omnibus Bill is seeking to amend twenty-three (23) business related laws in Nigeria. This would signal the start of the legislative process leading to the Omnibus Bill's enactment into law.

On March 22, 2022, the new terminal at Murtala Mohammed International Airport was commissioned by His Excellency, President Mohammadu Buhari GCFR. This new terminal is a world class aviation transport facility designed to handle 20 million passengers with the best comfort and generate up to 300,000 direct and indirect new jobs in Nigeria.

His Excellency the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Sen Hadi Sirika, the Honorable Minister of Aviation, Captain Rabiu Yakubu, the Special Adviser to the President on Ease of Doing Business, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, the MD of FAAN, Captain Rabiu Yakubu, Lagos Airport Manager, Mrs. Victoria ShinAba, and other relevant authorities were in attendance.

On March 15,2022, European Business Chamber (Eurocham) President Mary Aderinola Ojulari, Ibi Ikpoki of the European Union, Igbuan Okaisabor of construction Kaiser, Esther Awoniyi of Eurocham Nigeria, Obi Mojakwu of Asseco Nigeria, and Seun Suleiman of Siemens Energy made a courtesy call to the PEBEC secretariat. They were welcomed by the Special Adviser to the President on Ease of Doing Business, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, and the PEBEC team.

Eurocham Nigeria is an association uniting the main European investors and corporate organizations in Nigeria. They promote trade, investment and exchanges between European businesses operating in the private and public sector entities in Nigeria.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss ways to collaborate with PEBEC on creating an enabling business environment and to develop ways to attract investors to Nigeria to do business.

PEBEC will continue to deepen the partnership with both the public and private sector – the ultimate beneficiaries of the business climate reform.
