LASUBEB HOLDS PRE-BID MEETING FOR 2023/2024 UBEC INTERVENTION PROJECTS
The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) held a pre-bid meeting for contractors and stakeholders interested in participating in the ex*****on of the 2023/2024 Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Intervention Projects in Lagos State on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
The meeting which held at the LASUBEB Multi-Purpose Hall, Maryland provided prospective bidders with a clear understanding of the bidding requirements, procurement proceduresnand documentation guidelines necessary for participation in the projects.
In his welcome remarks, the Board Secretary of LASUBEB, Mr. Hakeem Lamidi, welcomed participants and commended their interest in partnering with the Board to advance basic education development in Lagos State. He stated that the pre-bid meeting serves as an important platform for fostering transparency, accountability, and mutual understanding between the Board and prospective contractors, while ensuring that all participants are adequately informed about the procurement process.
On the other hand, in his address, the Executive Chairman of LASUBEB, Dr. Hakeem Babatunde who was represented by the Permanent Board Member on teacher's Pension, Comrade Babatunde William reaffirmed the Board's commitment to ensuring that every stage of the procurement process is conducted in a fair, transparent, and competitive manner, in line with extant regulations and best practices.
He added that the pre-bid meeting forms part of the Board’s efforts to promote transparency, encourage healthy competition, and ensure the successful implementation of projects that will further enhance the quality of free basic education for all children in the State.
Dr. Sh*ttu urged all prospective bidders to adhere strictly to the stipulated guidelines and ensure compliance with all procurement requirements.
Speaking during the technical session, the Director of Procurement LASUBEB, Mr. Taofeek Oseni, provided detailed explanations on the fundamental principles guiding bidding documentation in accordance with the provisions of the Lagos State Public Procurement Law and established procurement guidelines. He highlighted the importance of submitting complete and accurate documents, meeting eligibility requirements, and complying with all specifications outlined in the bidding documents.
Mr. Oseni further enlightened on the procedures for bid submission, evaluation criteria, transparency requirements, and other critical aspects of the procurement process, while responding to questions and requests for clarification from prospective bidders. He stressed that strict adherence to the Public Procurement Law is essential to ensuring a responsive bidding process.
