ONWA on National Assignment For Peace For Ndi Igbo in Lagos.

Governor Hope Uzodinma CON, GSSRS met with the Organized Igbo Community in Lagos on Thursday 29th June 2023, heard their complaints and promised to meet with his Lagos Counterpart.

On Friday 30th June 2023, Governor Hope Uzodinma CON, GSSRS led Igbo stakeholders in Lagos State to a meeting with Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu of Lagos State.

At the end of the meeting, a Communique was issued.

The People's Governor Sen Hope Uzodimma And His Lagos Counterpart, Gov. Jide Sanwo-Olu and all parties at the meeting agreed to set up a Peace Committee to reconcile Igbos and Yorubas In Lagos.

The communique further requested the suspension of further demolition at Alaba International market with a review committee "to ensure that no building that is not in contravention is demolished."

It was further agreed that compensation will be paid for any wrong demolition in Alaba International market, while taxes, rates and demand notice levied on Igbo real estate developers will be reviewed to ensure they are not outrageously prohibitive, punitive and seemingly targeted at them."

The Communique finally recommended the establishment of "proper channels of communication and more robust engagement with organized Igbo leadership in Lagos'' as was the case during the tenures of Governors Tinubu, Fashola and Ambode, which engendered massive Igbo support for the past Governors."

While Sanwo-Olu signed the Communique for Lagos State Government, while Uzodimma signed for the South East.

The Peoples Governor Hope Uzodimma CON CSSRS decorates Frank Mba as a Deputy Inspector of Police.

DIG Frank Mba who was recently promoted from the rank of AIG will be representing South East in the Police Management Team led by the new IGP.

Governor Hope Uzodimma, being the South East Governor's Forum Chairman was there to witness the promotion ceremony and also decorated DIG Frank Mba in his new rank.
