EVANG.OKOROIKE COMMISSIONS MORE BOREHOLE PROJECTS , SAYS MORE THAN 30 UNDERWAY

The Executive Chairman of Isiala Mbano LGA, Hon.Evang. Chika Okoroike, has commissioned three additional solar-powered boreholes as part of his administration's rural water accessibility programme designed to provide free clean water across various communities within Isiala Mbano LGA, increasing the number of already commissioned Boreholes in the 1st phase of the programme to Ten Solar-powered Borehole.

The project commissioning which took place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in Umuezealma village in Amaraku Autonomous Community, Afọr ibeme in Ibeme Autonomous Community, and Ofodim Autonomous Community respectively; attracted the presence of prominent personalities from the respective communities including the traditional rulers, PGs, Village Chairmen,who came out in their numbers to welcome and appreciate the Council Chairman for the development he brought to their communities.

The Council Chairman, during the ribbon-cutting ceremony to formally commission the borehole for public use, reiterated his administration's commitment to prioritizing basic necessities as outlined in the needs assessment of all communities within the Local Government Area. He disclosed that over 30 borehole projects were currently underway, in addition to the 20 ongoing water projects in the first phase of the initiative. Furthermore, he extended his gratitude to the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Dist. Sen.Hope Uzodimma, for empowering Local Government Areas by ensuring their autonomy, which has enabled them to address the needs of rural communities effectively.

While at Ofodim autonomous community, Evang. Okoroike expressed gratitude to Chief Bright Chimezie Njoku, Publisher and CEO of Horn Newspaper and a native son of the community, for prioritizing community development over personal interests. He noted that prior to the borehole construction, Chief Chimezie had alleviated the suffering of his people by providing them with complimentary water and emphasised that the project would bring enduring relief to the community.
Furthermore, he honored Chief Chimezie by allowing him to perform the ribbon-cutting ceremony as a recognition of his sacrifices for the Ofodim community, assuring that more good things would come to the community through him.

In conclusion, the chairman urged the communities to take responsibility for safeguarding the hybrid solar boreholes in their areas, highlighting that his preference for solar-powered boreholes stemmed from their ability to provide a consistent water supply without requiring human intervention.

The Council Chairman was accompanied by the Leader council, Rt. Hon. Godson Mgbeosuru, who performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Afor IBEME Borehole, Chief of Staff to the Council Chairman, Hon. Golden Uzowuru, Chief Protocol Officer, Buhari Uzowuru, the Borehole Engineer, Engr.Omauzo, and among others.

THERE IS HOPE IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS, SAYS EVANG. OKOROIKE, AS ISIALA MBANO LGA MARKS CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION IN GRAND STYLE.

The Executive Chairman of Isiala LGA, Hon.Evang. Chika Okoroike, has affirmed that public schools remain the best despite being neglected by many members of society today. He stressed that numerous prominent leaders, including past Presidents of the country, Governors, and influential figures, even himself are predominantly products of public schools, noting that teaching capacity in most public schools remains impressive today.

In response to the outstanding performance of students from Comprehensive Secondary School Okohia in Isiala Mbano LGA , who emerged first in the debate competition held during the 2026 Children's Day celebration at the council headquarters in Umuelemai, with the topic "Students in boarding schools are more disciplined than students in day schools," Evang. Okoroike emphasized that the exceptional performance of the students from Comprehensive Secondary School Okohia, who opposed the motion, serves as a testament to the enduring potential of public schools, applauding their teachers for the impressive performance of their pupils.

The Council Chairman further advised children, irrespective of their background, to be diligent in their studies and uphold moral values that will enable them to distinguish themselves and emerge as future leaders, urging them to refrain from early use of mobile devices except for academic purposes, maintaining that fear of God and dedication to one's passion remains essential components for growth.

He expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairperson of the LGA, Hon. Evang. Uchenna Priscilla Okoroike, for organizing the event to further promote the 3R administration's message of Governor Hope Uzodimma and his wife, Her Excellency Chief Barr. Chioma Uzodimma, at the grassroots level among children.

The event featured a diverse range of activities, including a debate competition, prayers, spelling bee, dance competition, News in Igbo, quiz competition, special performances, and various side attractions that contributed to the memorable experience for the children.

The highlight of the occasion was the distribution of gifts, comprising cash prizes, sanitary pads, soaps, detergents, educational materials, and food items, presented to the Children by the wife of the Executive Chairman.

Also in attendance were notable dignitaries, including the Vice Chairman of the LGA, Hon. Mrs. Stella Laz Onyema, the Leader of the Council, Hon. Okechukwu Mgbeosuru, the Secretary of the LGA, Hon. Barr. Chinedu Iwuagwu, the Chief of Staff to the Council Chairman, Hon. Golden Uzowuru, the DAGs of the LGA, Deaconess Priscilla Egbunine, the Treasurer of the LGA, Mrs. Queen Ajugwo, and teachers from various schools.

The Executive Chairman of Isiala Mbano LGA, Hon. Evang. Chika Okoroike , today, May 27, celebrates children as Nigeria observes this year's Children's Day celebration. In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Prince UdoGod Agbugba , the Council Chairman described children as the joy, hope, strength, and future of every family and nation, emphasizing the creativity and limitless potentials of children, whom he affirmed are the leaders of tomorrow.

He assured that his administration would continue to prioritize the overall welfare and well-being of children through initiatives and policies that directly impact them.
