MCRP Hands over Agricultural and Educational Equipment to College of Agriculture, Ganye

In a significant step toward strengthening agricultural education and practical training in Adamawa State, the Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP) has officially handed over key agricultural and educational equipment to the College of Agriculture, Ganye (Gyawana Campus).

The event which marks the formal transfer of assets procured and infrastructure completed under the MCRP initiative aimed at revitalizing learning environments affected by crisis and underdevelopment.

The support package includes One brand new tractor equipped with implements, Office and classroom furniture, Modern laboratory equipment, a newly constructed block of two classrooms and a newly constructed block of two laboratories

According to the State Project Coordinator of the MCRP, Dr. Maurice Vunobolki, the initiative which in line with the 8-point Agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, is designed to enhance hands-on learning for students in agricultural sciences and related disciplines, thereby contributing to regional food security and economic recovery through education.

In his remark, the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Agriculture, Prof. David Finchiwa Jatau stated that the intervention is a testament to Governor Fintiri’s commitment to restoring and expanding access to Agric input and quality education in areas impacted by crisis.

The Acting Provost of the College Mr. Reuben Datsu expressed gratitude for the support, highlighting the transformative impact the new facilities and equipment will have on academic and practical training.

Representative of the Lamurde Local Government Chairman, Youth and community leaders as well as agricultural stakeholders attended the ceremony.

Nigerian National League Approves Makwada Stadium Numan for Adamawa United's Home Matches

The newly rehabilitated and upgraded Makwada Stadium in Numan has officially been approved by the Nigerian National League (NNL) as the venue for Adamawa United's home matches.

Previously, the team had been forced to play their home games in Gombe and Bauchi due to the poor state of facilities in the state hence the rehabilitation of Makwada Stadium by the MCRP.

The State Project Coordinator of the Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP) Adamawa Project Coordination Unit, Dr. Maurice Vunobolki FCA highlighted that this development will not only complement the Adamawa State Government's efforts in sports development but will also boost the morale of the players who will now have the opportunity to compete on their home turf.

Makwada Stadium, Hong and Gulak are the three modern sports Centres upgraded and constructed in the state by the MCRP to promote social cohesion and community development as well as harness future talents.

This development will no doubt place Adamawa State on the map, Dr. Maurice added.

The North-East Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP) Adamawa State Project Coordination Unit in collaboration with Scarlet Consult Nigeria Limited, has concluded a 5-day training on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).

The training targeted Health Workers, Social Workers, Youth Workers, Religious & Traditional Leaders, Women Groups, and GBV Service Providers (Health, Law Enforcement, Legal Aid, & Psycho-Social Support) across the State.

Key objectives of the training include raising awareness about sexual exploitation & abuse, familiarizing participants with GBV service mapping and reporting mechanisms, enhancing knowledge on survivor-centred post-GBV service provision, strengthening multi-sectoral collaboration, and improving documentation and reportage of GBV cases.

Overall, the goal is to reduce GBV in the state to its barest minimum and to promote GBV best practices. Participants were put through series of pre & post tests to ascertain their knowledge levels on the subject matter. Also, certificates were awarded to participants at the conclusion of the exercise.
