In strengthening awareness and collaborative efforts in addressing gender-based violence within the municipality, the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Region I, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Agoo, successfully conducted a Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Mapping Activity today, June 23, 2026, at the Mayor's Conference Hall, Agoo Municipal Building.

The activity brought together Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Desk Officers from various barangays, civil society organization (CSO) partners, representatives from different sectors, and focal persons on VAWC in the Local Government Unit of Agoo.

Through policy discussions and focus group discussions facilitated by CHR Region I, in coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), the stakeholders were able to have better understanding of gender-based violence issues, share insights and experiences, and identify existing challenges and available support mechanisms within the community.

The activity also highlighted the importance of collaboration among government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders in promoting safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive communities.

As the activity concluded, stakeholders expressed their commitment to continue working together in promoting gender-responsive programs and strengthening local efforts to address gender-based violence, protecting the welfare of all Kailian. ๐Ÿ’š

Pride and honor filled the Agoo Farmers' Building grounds as the Local Government Unit of Agoo took a moment during today's flag-raising ceremony, June 22, 2026, to recognize Kailian Anton Paulo Dominick L. Della of Brgy. San Antonio for his outstanding achievements and continued excellence in the national swimming arena.

Kailian Anton has once again brought distinction and pride to the Municipality of Agoo by securing gold medals in some of the country's most prestigious swimming competitions, demonstrating remarkable skill, discipline, perseverance, and dedication to the sport.

During the Philippine Aquatics, Inc. Long Course National Championship 2026 held at the New Clark City Aquatic Center, Anton emerged as a gold medalist in multiple events, namely the 100-Meter Freestyle, 200-Meter Freestyle, 400-Meter Freestyle, 800-Meter Freestyle, 1,500-Meter Freestyle, 200-Meter Individual Medley, and 400-Meter Individual Medley.

He further showcased his dominance at the Palarong Pambansa 2026 held in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, where he captured gold medals in the 400-Meter Freestyle, 800-Meter Freestyle, 1,500-Meter Freestyle, and 200-Meter Freestyle Relay Medley. He also established new records in the 200-Meter Freestyle Relay Medley, 800-Meter Freestyle, and 1,500-Meter Freestyle, earning him the prestigious title of Most Outstanding Swimmer (Secondary Boys).

Adding to his impressive list of accomplishments, Anton excelled in the Philippine Aquatics Open Water Swimming National Tryouts 2026 held at Boracay New Coast, Malay, Aklan, where he claimed the Gold Medal in the 10-Kilometer Men's Junior (Under 20) Category and emerged as the Overall No. 1 Finisher in the 10-Kilometer Men's Category.

These remarkable achievements reflect Anton's unwavering commitment to excellence and his passion for swimming. His success serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes and brings immense pride and honor to the Municipality of Agoo. ๐Ÿ’š

Narito ang magkakapatid na Carrera, mga natatanging achiever na anak ng ating mga Kailian na sina Ronel at Mayrose, at si Kailian Lorielyn O. Llavore ng Brgy. Macalva Norte, na ngayon ay isa nang ganap na radio anchor ng Bombo Radyo La Union. Sila ay ilan lamang sa mga patunay ng tagumpay ng DSWD Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

Ang kanilang mga kuwento ay nagsisilbing inspirasyon sa ating komunidad at patunay na ang edukasyon, kapag nabigyan ng sapat na suporta at oportunidad, ay maaaring maging daan tungo sa mas magandang kinabukasan.

Ang Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Agoo ay lubos kayong binabati, Kailian Ronel at Mayrose at Kailian Lorielyn, sa inyong mga natatanging tagumpay at kahanga-hangang pagsisikap. ๐Ÿ’š

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š | Officials and employees of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Agoo, led by Mayor Frank O. Sibuma, participated in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill held today, June 18, 2026, at 9:00 AM. The drill was spearheaded by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

The Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill or NSED is a quarterly exercise, which aims to promote earthquake awareness and preparedness of the general public and strengthen the preparedness of Local Government Units in the event of natural disasters. ๐Ÿ’š

Ensuring that Agoo remains safe and prepared in the face of disasters and emergencies, the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU), led by Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortega, visited the municipality yesterday, June 16, 2026, for the prepositioning of essential relief goods and emergency supplies aimed at strengthening local disaster preparedness and response efforts in the province.

Governor Ortega personally came, together with the Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO), to present the food and non-food items to be prepositioned by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Agoo, gratefully received by Mayor Frank O. Sibuma, Vice Mayor Antonio Eslao, SBM Mark Anthony Refugia, SBM Robert Fontanilla, SBM Reynaldo Oller and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Ms. Rhoda Panes.

Among these items include relief goods, shelter-grade tarpaulins, water drinking containers, hygiene kits, family kits, bottled water, modular tents, and food packs, which will greatly support operations at the Regional Evacuation Center, serving as a temporary shelter for Kailian evacuees during disasters.

Through strengthened partnership and joint efforts, the provincial government and the LGU reaffirm their commitment to safeguarding lives and ensuring the timely delivery of assistance to all Kailian. ๐Ÿ’š

In line with the Municipality of Agoo's commitment to promoting a safe, healthy, productive, and drug-free working environment, officials and employees of the Local Government Unit of Agoo were enjoined in the Orientation on Drug-Free Workplace Program, held yesterday, June 15, 2026, at Mayor's Conference Hall, Agoo Municipal Building.

The activity was conducted in two sessions, facilitated by the Agoo Out-Patient Drug Rehabilitation Center, together with Atty. Samuel Poquing Jr., Legal Officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office, who discussed about Drug-Free Workplace Program.

The participants actively took part in the discussion and gained better understanding of the importance of maintaining a drug-free workplace, supporting the mission of the LGU, under the leadership of Mayor Frank O. Sibuma, to promote discipline, efficiency, and a safe working environment in Agoo. ๐Ÿ’š
