The Summer Basketball Clinic for Alcantarahanon Kids 2026 was a huge success! This was made possible through the generous sponsorship of SB Member, Hon. Ragen Pantuan.

It was a fun and memorable experience not only for our guest exhibition players and spectators, but most importantly, for our young basketball players and their supportive parents and guardians.

To all kids who joined this Basketball Training, may you bring all the lessons you learned into your future basketball games. Good luck, future MVPs! 💪🏀

The Municipality of Alcantara with the baton of Local Chief Executive Hon. Atty. Fritz A. Lastimoso, the Sanguniang Bayan members headed by Vice-Mayor Hon. Larry Llenos and the Committee on Education, Culture, Science and Technology Chairman, Hon. Artudio Lumapay, sponsored and duly approved by the august body, a resolution for the awarding of the successful Topnotchers and Passers of the Professional Board Examinations in any college courses starting the Calendar Year 2020 until 2026, who are bonafide residents of the municipality. The Project is called: "MAPASIGARBUHONG (GANTI) - BAHANDI SA ALCANTARA AWARD".

The office of the Municipal Mayor through the Human Resource Department, IT/PESO and office of the Sangguniang Bayan will gather data for the successful implementation of the program.

To all Lawaan Board Passers and Topnotchers from 2020 to 2026, kindly approach your respective BHW to fill out the form and be included in the list.

For board passers from other Barangays, you may coordinate directly with your Barangay Officials.

HEADS UP, RIDERS! HELMET ON, SAFETY FIRST.

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Ronda District Office will officially implement OPLAN HEADSAFE starting June 2026 across the municipalities in the southwestern part of Cebu Province.

This intensified enforcement campaign focuses on strict compliance with Republic Act 10054 (The Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009), which requires all motorcycle riders and back riders to wear standard protective helmets at all times while driving.

📌 Remember: NO HELMET, NO RIDE.
There will be no excuses and no exemptions when it comes to road safety.

⚠️ Penalties for violation:
• 1st offense: ₱1,500 fine
• 2nd offense: ₱3,000 fine
• 3rd offense: ₱5,000 fine
• 4th & succeeding offenses: ₱10,000 fine + confiscation/suspension of driver’s license

Wearing a helmet is not just about following the law—it’s about protecting your life and the lives of your loved ones.

Let’s all cooperate and promote responsible road use.
