Six barangays in the Municipality of Anahawan, Southern Leyte secured priority sub-projects under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s KALAHI-CIDSS KKB-CDD program following the Municipal Development Council–Participatory Resource Allocation (MDC-PRA) conducted on April 21, 2026.
During the MDC-PRA, representatives from the different barangays presented and justified their proposed sub-projects before the council, highlighting the most pressing needs of their respective communities. The prioritization of proposals was guided by established criteria, ensuring an objective, transparent, and needs-based evaluation of each sub-project.
Out of the municipality’s PhP 9.5 million total grant allocation, the following sub-projects were prioritized:
• Barangay Amagusan – Concreting of Community Access Road in Purok 1
• Barangay Capacuhan – Concreting of Barangay Road in Centro
• Barangay Kagingkingan – Concreting of Community Pathway
• Barangay Mahalo – Concreting of Community Pathway in Purok Paguha
• Barangay Mainit – Concreting of Community Pathway in Purok Centro
• Barangay Poblacion – Concreting of Community Pathway in Purok Dallas
Each sub-project will be funded through a combination of the KALAHI-CIDSS grant and local counterpart contributions from the respective barangays, promoting shared accountability and sustainability.
The MDC-PRA is a key process of the KALAHI-CIDSS KKB-CDD program that strengthens community participation in local governance, enabling citizens to take an active role in identifying, prioritizing, and implementing development initiatives responsive to their needs.

April 20, 2026 | Municipal Technical Desk Review (MTDR) and Endorsement of Proposal
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through the KALAHI-CIDSS KKB-CDD program, successfully conducted the Municipal Technical Desk Review (MTDR) and endorsement of proposals in the Municipality of Anahawan, Southern Leyte.
The activity aimed to ensure the technical soundness, feasibility, and alignment of prioritized sub-projects with community needs and program standards. It also served as a platform for collaborative review, strengthening transparency, accountability, and coordination among stakeholders.
This initiative highlights the continuing commitment to participatory and community-driven development, empowering barangays towards inclusive and sustainable progress.

On April 8, 2026, the Municipality successfully conducted the Municipal Development Council (MDC) Meeting for Criteria Setting under the KALAHI-CIDSS KKB-CDD program.
The activity aimed to establish transparent and objective criteria for project identification, selection, and prioritization, ensuring that development initiatives are aligned with the needs and priorities of the community. It also served as a venue to engage key stakeholders—including local government units, community representatives, and civil society organizations—in a participatory and inclusive decision-making process.
Through this initiative, the council strengthened accountability, promoted efficient resource allocation, and reinforced its commitment to implementing responsive and sustainable community-driven projects.
