𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 │ 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐭. 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐛𝐨 𝐃𝐚𝐲 📢

On June 15, 1991, the second largest eruption in the 20th century occurred, widely affecting people and their livelihood in several parts of Pampanga including Angeles City.

In commemoration of the 35th eruption of Mt. Pinatubo, the Office of the Mayor of Angeles City requested June 15, 2026 to be declared as a special non-working day in the city, suspending classes at all levels and government office work.

35𝒕𝒉 𝑨𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒕. 𝑷𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒃𝒐: 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒔, 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 ⛰️

Thirty-five years ago, an eruption shook communities and livelihoods across Zambales, Pampanga, and Tarlac. Today, we remember it not only as a story of disaster, but also as one of resilience.

The Mt. Pinatubo eruption that happened on June 15, 1991 left millions of people affected—disrupting livelihoods, displacing families, and covering lands in ash and debris.

But the citizens refused to be stopped by layers of ash and debris from rising and rebuilding their homes. The disaster did not end in surrender, instead, it started another hope as residents used the scraps of the aftermath as determination to persevere. 💫

☀️ 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀, 𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 1991.
