​Ngayong araw, Hunyo 11, 2026, buong pagmamalaki nating ipinagdiriwang ang kasaysayan, katatagan, at patuloy na pagsulong ng ating mahal na probinsya.

​Alam mo ba na opisyal na itinatag ang ating lalawigan noong Hunyo 11, 1901 sa pamamagitan ng Act No. 137? Ipinangalan ito kay G*t. José Rizal bilang pagkilala sa kanyang walang kapantay na kabayanihan at pagmamahal sa bayan. Noong araw, sakop din nito ang ilang lungsod na bahagi na ngayon ng Metro Manila tulad ng Pasig, Marikina, Caloocan, at Makati bago nabago ang mga hangganan nito.

The PSTO Rizal office will be closed on 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, in celebration of the 125th Founding Anniversary of Rizal Province, as stipulated by Proclamation No. 1287.

Additionally, the office will remain closed on 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, in observance of Philippine Independence Day.

Regular operations will resume on 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 (Monday).

: Pililla formalizes commitment to STI-driven governance in new agreement with DOST-CALABARZON

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) - CALABARZON officially institutionalized science-backed governance in the Municipality of Pililla, Rizal, through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed earlier today, June 9, 2026. This partnership formalizes the implementation of the Innovation, Science, and Technology for Accelerating Regional Technology-based Development (iSTART) and the Smart and Sustainable Communities Program (SSCP), designed to integrate science, technology, and innovation (STI) directly into the municipality’s core development strategies. By mainstreaming STI into local plans, the initiative seeks to drive inclusive growth and long-term rural prosperity.

Under this strategic collaboration, DOST-CALABARZON will provide technical and financial resources by linking the LGU with existing flagship programs to address pressing local issues. A key feature of the iSTART program is the engagement of Researchers, Scientists, and Engineers (RSEs) who will assist in developing technology-based strategies for Pililla’s agri-based, manufacturing, and services sectors. Simultaneously, the SSCP will assess the town’s "smartness" level to build an ecosystem where technology effectively enhances public services and the quality of life for all residents.

The LGU Pililla has solidified its commitment to this vision through Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 43, S. 2026, which authorized the formalization of this partnership. As part of the agreement, the municipality will provide logistical support and funding for consultative workshops, while DOST-CALABARZON provides the technical expertise and roadmaps tailored to the community's needs.

Reflecting the LGU’s proactive stance, Hon. John V. Masinsin, Municipal Mayor of Pililla emphasized Pililla’s readiness to host research and policy experiments. “We have research areas and plants, and we can serve as a guinea pig. If you wish to experiment with a policy or conduct a study, we are very diverse,” the Mayor stated, inviting more evidence-based interventions. This openness positions the municipality as a strategic testing ground for the STI-driven growth envisioned under the iSTART and SSC programs.

With the agreement now officially sealed, the partnership moves immediately into the strategic planning phase. A multi-sectoral iSTART Workshop Series is scheduled for June 16–18, 2026. These sessions will serve as a platform for local stakeholders to identify and prioritize STI interventions, ensuring that Pililla’s transition into a smart and sustainable community is both realistic and impact-driven.

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal — To fortify the standards of food safety standards and elevate product quality assurance, the Department of Science and Technology - Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) Rizal conducted a specialized two-day training on Basic Food Hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for Gramworth Enterprises Inc. on May 19-20.

Gramworth Enterprises Inc., the micro-enterprise behind the rising local cacao brand Cacaomistry, gathered both its production personnel and back-office sales associates for the capacity-building activity. Initiated upon the request of the firm's CEO and R&D Director, Melanie Medrano, the invention aims to align the company's entire workforce with standardized food safety protocols for its signature powdered chocolate drink and champorado mix lines.

Ensuring the training was precisely aligned with the firm's actual operational environment, the DOST Rizal Food Safety Team performed a comprehensive pre-assessment of Gramworth's manufacturing facility located at the EMAX Bldg. in Brgy. San Roque, Antipolo City.

During the site diagnostic, Ms. Duane Mariel S. Juarez, member of the DOST Rizal Food Safety Team, evaluated the current plant layout and provided strategic recommendations in accordance to standardized laws to optimize workflow efficiency and enhance plant situation. Utilizing DOST CALABARZON's Food Safety Modules, Ms. Juarez also served as the lead facilitator for the two-day lecture series.

The intensive curriculum covered critical parts of the food safety management, including: (1) biological, chemical, and physical food hazards, (2) personnel hygiene and cross-contamination prevention, (3) process flow optimization and facility layout preparation, and (4) pest management and control systems.

In order to translate theoretical concepts into operational habits, the training featured interactive, immersive simulations. Participants underwent a physical hazard extraction test and a handwashing activity to visually demonstrate the efficacy of proper sanitation in the production area. Additionally, employees participated in a workshop mapping out potential cross-contamination pathways within their actual production flow.

Ms. Medrano expressed her appreciation for the timely discussion, noting that the training equips their staff with technical confidence and know-hows to address customer inquiries regarding quality assurance while driving the enterprise's internal continuous improvement initiatives.

Looking toward long-term growth, the engagement extended beyond the current production site. Following the closed-in sessions, the DOST Rizal facilitators inspected their upcoming commissary site at the Bankers Village III in Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Antipolo City.

By providing early-stage layout and workflow recommendations for the new facility, DOST Rizal ensures that the micro-enterprise's upcoming expansion remains strictly compliant with regulatory standards, paving a smoother path toward market competitiveness.
