LOOK | DAR NIR Regional and Provincial Offices Gather for Midyear Assessment and StratPlan, Reinforcing Commitment to ARBs
In a 3‑day “CY 2026 Midyear Regional Formative Assessment cm Project SPLIT Strategic Planning Workshop” held in Sipalay City, leaders of the Department of Agrarian Reform Negros Island Region (DAR NIR) regional and provincial offices from Negros Occidental I - North, Negros Occidental II - South, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor, spearheaded by Regional Director Lucrecia S. Taberna, come together for a focused alignment of strategies that strengthens support for agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs).
The activity, which commenced on June 15, 2026, continues today as provincial offices present their respective 1st semester accomplishments in the aspects of Project SPLIT (Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling), Land Tenure Security Program (LTSP), Agrarian Justice Delivery Program (AJDP), Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development Sustainability Program (ARBDSP), and Support to Operations.
The activity will continue until tomorrow, June 17, where 2nd semester catch‑up plans will be discussed.
All these efforts ultimately reinforce DAR NIR’s commitment to deliver clearer land rights, stronger support services, and more responsive interventions for our ARBs.

In line with its continuing efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships and explore strategic opportunities for collaboration, the Department of Agrarian Reform Negros Island Region (DAR NIR), spearheaded by Regional Director Lucrecia S. Taberna, held a coordination meeting with the University of St. La Salle, represented by University President Br. Joaquin Severino S. Martinez, FSC, D.MIN., today, June 11, at the St. La Salle Ecopark, Brgy. Granada in Bacolod City.
The meeting aimed to discuss potential partnership initiatives and identify collaborative programs, projects, and interventions that will advance the capacities of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) and their organizations, particularly in the areas of capacity development, institutional strengthening, and extension services within agrarian reform areas.
This activity marks another step toward building stronger and more responsive support systems that empower ARB communities.

The Department of Agrarian Reform Negros Island Region (DAR NIR) and Central Philippines State University strengthened their partnership today, June 11, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding aimed at reinforcing collaboration on agrarian reform and academic initiatives.
OIC‑CARPO for Regional ARBDSP Mark Anthony G. Caraig opened the program by welcoming guests to the DAR Regional Office, followed by inspirational messages from DAR NIR Regional Director Lucrecia S. Taberna and CPSU President Aladino C. Moraca, PhD. Both leaders emphasized the importance of shared expertise and coordinated efforts between government and the academe.
OIC‑ARPO II Catherine T. Lana presented the salient features of the agreement before the ceremonial signing, which served as the event’s highlight.
This activity forms part of DAR NIR’s continuing commitment to partnerships that broaden opportunities for ARBs and strengthen institutional linkages across the region.

BACOLOD CITY, June 10, 2026 – The Department of Agrarian Reform Negros Island Region and the Securities and Exchange Commission Negros Island Region (SEC NIR) formally strengthened their partnership through the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement under the SEC–CAN (Communication, Advocacy, and Network) Project.
The SEC–CAN Project aims to promote awareness of corporate compliance, advocate financial literacy, and establish stronger networks with government agencies such as DAR to bring regulatory services closer to grassroots communities. Through this initiative, Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) will be equipped with knowledge on legal compliance, organizational governance, and protection against fraudulent investment schemes, enabling them to operate more sustainably, transparently, and effectively.
During the activity, DAR NIR Regional Director Lucrecia S. Taberna emphasized the importance of the partnership in empowering ARBOs and enhancing their capacity to become viable and self-sustaining organizations.
Representing SEC NIR were Atty. Annabelle Corral-Respall, Director II, and Ms. Maria Laarni King, Information Officer II. In her message, Atty. Corral-Respall highlighted the vital role of financial literacy and investor protection in safeguarding organizations and their members from financial risks and fraudulent schemes. She also announced SEC NIR's commitment to provide free financial literacy training programs to ARBOs throughout the Negros Island Region.
Through this partnership, DAR NIR and SEC NIR reaffirm their shared commitment to empowering ARBOs by promoting good governance, financial responsibility, regulatory compliance, and organizational resilience. The collaboration is expected to open more opportunities for capacity building and institutional strengthening, ultimately contributing to the socio-economic development of agrarian reform beneficiaries across the Negros Island Region.

LOOK | As part of its continuing efforts to strengthen its workforce and enhance service delivery to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs), the Department of Agrarian Reform Negros Island Region (DAR NIR) conducted a simultaneous qualifying exam on June 9, 2026, at the DOLE Office and Northwest Inn in Bacolod City, and at Bethel Guest House in Dumaguete City.
Successful applicants will be considered for vacant positions in the provincial offices of DAR Negros Occidental I-North, DAR Negros Occidental II-South, and DAR Negros Oriental.

Earlier today, the DAR Negros Occidental I - North launched the ARBO Merkado: Tiangge ni ARB in Murcia to provide local farmers and agrarian reform beneficiaries with a venue to sell fresh farm produce and locally processed products.
With this initiative, the Department aims to create greater market opportunities and strengthen the economic sustainability of farming communities.

: To address issues and other concerns, the Department of Agrarian Reform Negros Island Region is currently in dialogue with the Damayan ng Manggagawa, Magsasaka at Mangingisda sa Bansa, Inc. (DAMMMBA) at the DAR NIR Regional Office.
The activity aims to foster open, peaceful conversations that support mutual understanding and collaborative solutions in terms of landholdings and other technical matters raised by DAMMMBA for immediate and prompt action.
