Baybay City, Leyte - June 20, 2026 - Personnel of Baybay City Fire Station, headed by FSINSP BENITO GUNDELINO G ELONA, J.D., Acting City Fire Marshal, successfully conducted a Fire Safety Lecture and Fire Drill at Zone 11 on June 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

The activity aimed to enhance public awareness on fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and proper response procedures during fire incidents. Participants were provided with valuable knowledge on fire safety measures, evacuation techniques, and the proper use of fire extinguishers through both lecture and practical demonstrations.

Through continuous community engagement and education, Baybay City Fire Station remains committed to promoting a culture of safety, preparedness, and resilience among the residents of Baybay City.

Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Training

Brgy. Gabas, Baybay City, Leyte - June 19, 2026 at 1400H, personnel of the Baybay City Fire Station, headed by FSINSP BENITO GUNDELINO G ELONA, J.D., Acting City Fire Marshal, participated as one of the guest speakers during the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Training held at the Brgy. Gabas Gymnasium.

During the activity, BFP personnel conducted an informative lecture on fire safety awareness and disaster preparedness, highlighting the importance of prevention, readiness, and proper response during emergencies. Participants also took part in practical Fire Drill and Earthquake Drill exercises to strengthen their knowledge and skills in responding effectively to fire incidents and seismic events.

In addition, the duty personnel of the Baybay City Fire Station conducted a house-to-house survey in Zone 2 to further promote fire safety awareness and gather information that will help enhance community preparedness and protection.

Baybay City, Leyte - June 18, 2026 - Baybay City Fire Station personnel, under the leadership of FSINSP BENITO GUNDELINO G ELONA, J.D., Acting City Fire Marshal, actively participated in the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) conducted at the Baybay City Fire Station and at the DPWH 5th District Engineering Office, Brgy. Hipusngo, Baybay City.

The activity aimed to enhance earthquake preparedness, strengthen emergency response capabilities, and promote public awareness on the proper actions to take before, during, and after an earthquake. Through the conduct of the drill, participants were able to practice the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure and familiarize themselves with evacuation protocols and emergency response measures.

Baybay City Fire Station remains committed to fostering a culture of preparedness and resilience to ensure the safety and protection of the community during emergencies and disasters.
