In DASIG, we are reminded that leadership is not done alone. It is shared, shaped, and strengthened by a society that pushes each other to do better, serve better, and remain grounded in integrity, action, and service.
This is how we continue to bridge the g4p not just between leadership and the people, but between who we were and who we are becoming.

In light of the devastation brought by Typhoon Tino last November 4, 2025, DASIG is launching a donation drive to extend support to one of our executive officers, Kate Travero, and her family.
Their household was severely affected by the typhoon, with floodwaters reaching chest level and damaging their food supplies, furniture, and appliances. Until now, their area remains without electricity and clean water, and access to transportation has been difficult due to muddy roads.
The Travero family, together with their grandmother and relatives, are in urgent need of drinkable water, non-perishable food, and other basic necessities.
Through this initiative, all proceeds will go directly toward purchasing and delivering these essential items to their home in Paknaan, Mandaue.

In light of the recent magnitude 6.9 earthquake and its continuing aftershocks, the USC Supreme Student Council has formally submitted a letter to Fr. Jesuraj Anthonipappen, SVD, Vice President for Academic Affairs, reiterating the call of the Carolinian student body for the suspension of classes and the implementation of academic leniency.
The letter appeals for the University Administration to:
1. Suspend all classes and academic activities, and shift to asynchronous learning from October 6 to 11, 2025, until all buildings and facilities are certified safe for use;
2. Grant academic leniency through extended deadlines and flexible requirements; and
3. Ensure full transparency in the inspection and certification of university facilities prior to the resumption of face-to-face classes.
These appeals were grounded in the collective data and concerns gathered through the Councilโs university-wide petition and student survey, which reflect the continuing struggles of Carolinians to recover from the disaster. As of October 4, 2025, 3:00 PM, a total of 1,741 students have signed the petition, and 670 have responded to the survey, highlighting widespread difficulties including unstable internet access, unsafe environments, emotional distress, and damage to homes.
The Council emphasizes that these numbers are not mere statistics, they represent the lived realities of hundreds of Carolinians who continue to balance academic responsibilities with safety concerns, family obligations, and participation in ongoing relief efforts.
While the Council acknowledges the Administrationโs recent decision to postpone midterm examinations and transition to online classes, we assert that a full class suspension and comprehensive academic leniency remain necessary to ensure the safety, recovery, and well-being of the student body.
In the spirit of Scientia, Virtus, et Devotio, the USC Supreme Student Council reaffirms its commitment to advocate for the best interests of all Carolinians. We urge the University Administration to act decisively and compassionately in response to this collective appeal.
Full survey results will be released within the day. Amping, Carolinians!
