Under the leadership of FCSUPT JUNITO F MASLANG, DSC, Regional Director of Region XI, and under the supervision of FSUPT DONALD R CONCEPCION, District Fire Marshal of the Davao City Fire District, –the Central Fire Station, headed by Station Commander FSINSP EPIPHANY JANE S DIWAG, Central Fire Station personnel recently participated in the Wilderness Survival Search and Rescue Training (WISSAR) held from May 31 to June 4, 2026 at Catigan, Toril District, Davao City, enhancing the skills and capabilities of our personnel in wilderness survival, navigation, emergency response, and search-and-rescue operations.

Under the leadership of FCSUPT JUNITO F MASLANG, DSC, Regional Director of Region XI, and under the supervision of FSUPT DONALD R CONCEPCION, District Fire Marshal of the Davao City Fire District, –the Central Fire Station, headed by Station Commander FSINSP EPIPHANY JANE S DIWAG, successfully conducted the Basic Skills for Responders Course (Firefighting) for the fire volunteers of Brgy. 22-C, Brgy. Tomas Monteverde, RAVEN Fire Volunteers, and FALCON Fire Volunteers to enhance their operational readiness and competency in responding to fire emergencies and related incidents.

The training focused on strengthening fundamental firefighting capabilities such as fire behavior awareness, proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE), fire hose management, basic fire suppression techniques, hydrant connection procedures, ladder operations, rescue and evacuation techniques, and adherence to incident command protocols. The activity also emphasized teamwork, discipline, and fireground safety to ensure effective and coordinated emergency response operations. This initiative reflects the station’s continued commitment to improving the preparedness, professionalism, and response capability of fire volunteers in delivering efficient public safety services to the community. 🚒🔥📡

During the observance of Semana Santa, Central Fire Station Personnel conducted Lakbay Alalay deployment by strategically positioning personnel, fire trucks, and rescue equipment in churches, transport terminals, highways, and tourist destinations. Assistance desks were established to support motorists and the traveling public, while continuous visibility patrols and fire safety inspections were carried out to ensure preparedness and immediate emergency response throughout the Holy Week period.
