The Pantuyan Mandaya Farmers Association (PMFA) was established in 2020 with the goal of improving the livelihoods of farmers in their community. While membership has since settled at 35 active members, the association has remained steadfast in pursuing sustainable income-generating activities for its members.

| The Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) Program in the Davao Region successfully conducted a Capacity Development Training on Strengthening Teams and Building Networks for members of the Mantunao Farmers Association (MFA), Junction Upland Farmers Association (JUFA) in Davao Oriental, and the San Malbino Micro-Hydro Power Association (SANMAMIHYPA) in Davao Occidental.

The training provided participants with valuable knowledge and practical strategies on teamwork, leadership, communication, and partnership-building. Through the activity, farmer-members enhanced their capacity to work collaboratively, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and foster meaningful networks.

The DA-SAAD Program Davao Region conducted an Orientation on Apiculture (Beekeeping) for its Area Coordinators and personnel on June 15, 2026, as part of its continuing efforts to identify innovative and income-generating interventions for assisted farmers.

The orientation provided participants with fundamental knowledge on beekeeping, its management practices, and its potential as a viable agricultural enterprise. Resource person Raye Angelo S. Dayot of the Livestock Program shared valuable insights on the basics of apiculture and its opportunities as an alternative livelihood venture that can complement existing farming activities.

| As part of its continuing commitment to strengthen farmer organizations, the DA-SAAD Davao Region conducted a Capacity Development Training on Strengthening Teams and Building Networks for the Sergio Osmeña Anti-Communist Brigade Agrivet Farmers Association in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental.

The activity provided participants with an opportunity to enhance their teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills, while fostering stronger relationships among members of the association.

| The Department of Agriculture – Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) Program Davao Region recently conducted a Capacity Development Training on Strengthening Teams and Building Networks in Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental.

This training benefited the members of two local Farmers' Associations, namely the Lingkasa Farmers Association and the Pigbaluyan Highland Farmers Association.

The training concludes with expectations for stronger teamwork and strengthened market opportunities ahead for both associations.
