The strategic, multi-agency initiative simultaneously covered high-visibility infrastructure projects: a massive commercial development at an ongoing mall construction site and a critical public infrastructure expansion at a local public hospital.
The inter-agency composite teamโsteered by DOLE labor inspectors alongside representatives from the Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Pag-IBIG Fund, and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), โconducted a holistic evaluation of the operations. Through the program, he was given the opportunity not only to receive temporary cash-for-work assistance, but also to provide Libreng Sakay services for job seekers and commuters during the Labor Day Job Fair activities.
Knowing that thousands of applicants would gather at the venue hoping to secure employment, Romeo willingly dedicated his day to transporting passengers free of charge.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI โ Davao del Sur Field Office, through its Livelihood Team, successfully conducted the Turnover of Materials under the DOLE-Assisted Livelihood Project titled โMarketing of Quality and Affordable Riceโ on June 10, 2026, in Guihing, Hagonoy, Davao del Sur. The project, amounting to Php 500,000.00, was awarded to the DASUCECO Employees Multipurpose Cooperative (DEMUCO) to support its livelihood enterprise and enhance access to quality and affordable rice for the community.
The turnover of project materials signifies DOLEโs continuing commitment to empowering workersโ organizations and cooperatives through sustainable livelihood opportunities. By providing the necessary resources and support, the initiative aims to strengthen DEMUCOโs operational capacity, generate additional income opportunities for its members, and contribute to local economic development in the municipality of Hagonoy.
In line with the directive of Secretary Francis N. Tolentinoโs agenda of promoting inclusive growth, employment generation, and sustainable community-based enterprises, DOLE XI remains steadfast in delivering responsive livelihood interventions that improve the socio-economic well-being of Filipino workers and their families. Gitambongan ang kalihokan sa mga representante gikan sa mga ahensya sa gobyerno, lokal nga pangagamhanan, institusyong pang-edukasyon, ug mga organisasyon sa komunidad lakip ang Sta. Ana Farmers Operators Association (SAFOA), Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) sa Davao de Oro, mga Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs), ug Colegio de Nabunturan (CDN). Ngayong araw, isinagawa ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in partnership with PESO Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte, ang Project Proposal presentation para sa 25 na magulang ng mga batang manggagawa, na may layuning mabigyan sila ng โฑ20,000 na livelihood assistance bawat isa.
Bahagi ito ng patuloy na kampanya laban sa child labor, na naglalayong palakasin ang kabuhayan ng mga pamilya upang maiwasan ang pagpasok ng mga bata sa mapanganib na trabaho.
Bilang suporta sa ganitong mga hakbang, binigyang-diin ni DOLE Secretary Francis N. DAVAO CITY โ On June 1, 2026, the open-air setting of Peopleโs Park was filled with a palpable sense of excitement as one hundred (100) Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA) members from various barangays across Davao City gathered to sign their employment contracts, officially stepping into a new chapter of community service and financial security.
For these 100 transport workers, the contract signing marks the beginning of 15 days of guaranteed work, earning the daily minimum wage of โฑ525 per day. Instead of worrying about unpredictable daily earnings on the road, they are being deployed back into their respective barangays to undertake vital community works such as cleaning drainage systems, clearing public pathways, and revitalizing local public spaces.
The initiative offers the drivers a unique chance to directly uplift their own neighborhoods while securing a steady, reliable income for their households.
