Isip kabahin sa pagsaulog sa Filipino Social Workers Day, gitigom sa City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) ang 210 ka rehistradong Social Workers atol sa Social Workers Day Celebration nga gihimo niadtong Hunyo 17–18, 2026 sa World Palace Hotel.

Tumong sa maong kalihokan ang pag-ila sa kritikal nga katungdanan sa mga social workers ug padayong pagpalig-on sa ilang kahibalo ug katakos sa pakig-alayon sa mga laing ahensya nga adunay susamang tumong alang sa kalambuan sa lain laing sektor sa komunidad.

Isip mga haligi sa kusog ug suporta sa pagbag-o sa kinabuhi, dako ang papel sa mga social workers sa paghatag og empowerment sa mga indibidwal, pamilya, ug komunidad aron makalampas sa mga hagit ug makab-ot ang positibong kausaban sa ilang kinabuhi. Ang ilang walay kakapoy nga dedikasyon, pag-alagad, ug gugma sa serbisyo publiko nagpadayon sa paghatag og dakong kausaban ilabi na sa mga labing nanginahanglan sa katilingban.

Gipasidunggan usab sa maong selebrasyon ang kahinungdanon sa propesyon sa Social Work subay sa Proclamation No. 1176, nga gipirmahan ni kanhing Presidente nga si Rodrigo Roa Duterte niadtong Hunyo 25, 2021, nga nagdeklarar sa matag Hunyo 19 isip Filipino Social Workers Day.

LOOK | The City Government of Davao, in partnership with the Davao Inventors Association, opens the Davao Innovations and Inventions Expo 2026 today, June 19, at the Abreeza Mall of Davao Activity Center.

The expo, which runs until June 21, 2026, features innovators, entrepreneurs, government agencies, academic institutions, industry leaders, and members of the creative sector to celebrate innovation and foster meaningful collaboration toward sustainable economic and community development.

In 2021, Davao City approved Ordinance No. 0546-21, or An Ordinance Establishing the Davao City Inventions and Innovations Center which creates a venue for Davao City-based inventors, innovators and creative researchers to come together in a unified and collective effort, so that their ideas, innovations, and inventions can be fully developed, promoted, and qualified for the purpose of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) application of innovative products and services.

At present, the city government thru the Davao City Inventions and Innovations Council, continues to strengthen programs and initiatives that support local inventors, innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs by providing opportunities for capacity-building, technology promotion, networking, and access to intellectual property protection.

1. Produce a short video that showcases Davao City’s core principles—“Kini ang Dabaw”

The video may feature one or more of the values listed below:

• Asenso para sa tanan
• Nagkahiusa ang matag pamilya
• Ginoo ang sentro sa tanan
• Disiplinado ang Katawhan
• Aktibo ang kabatan-onan
• Balaod nga patas sa tanan
• Ang droga ug krimen atong kalaban
• Wala’y diskriminasyon sa tinuohan

2. This contest is open to all video-savvy residents of Davao City—with a special call for student filmmakers, particularly those in senior high school and college.

Participants must submit a proof of identification showing Davao City as their residence such as: company ID, school ID, any government-issued ID, Barangay Certificate, proof of billing, or any similar document reflecting Davao City as address. Failure to provide proof of residence shall lead to the participant’s disqualification.

3. The competition is FREE with no registration fee required.
4. All entries should have been created from May 29 to June 29, 2026 and should be based on the theme: “𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: 𝐃𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐎 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 #𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐃𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐖”
5. Only one (1) entry per participant/team is allowed.
6. All entries must be submitted in the following format:

a. All entries should start with a 3-second black screen and end with a 5-second title screen that would include the following:

• City Government of Davao logo
• Text: DESTINATION: DAVAO 2025
• “Title of the Video”
• Name of the Production Team (for groups) or Producer/Director’s Name (for individual)
b. The length of the video should not be shorter than one minute and should not exceed three minutes.
c. All entries must be submitted in a digital format with a minimum resolution size of 1280x720 up to 4k maximum quality.
d. Acceptable formats include: MP4, MOV, AVI, WMV, MPG.

7. Entries must be the original work, owned and recorded by the participant and must not have been used and/or entered in any other contest or published in any media and posted online for whatever purpose, prior to the start and during the competition.
8. AVOID PROLONGED EXPOSURE OF A PARTICULAR PRODUCT. Prolonged exposure
of brands and establishments in the video is not allowed. Name brands can appear in the video provided that they are not blatantly promoted.
9. Entries with video clips taken OUTSIDE DAVAO CITY will be automatically disqualified.
10. Entries with video clips that are in violation to any laws and ordinances of the city will be automatically disqualified.
11. All costs of the production of the film will be borne by the participant.
12. It shall be the participant’s responsibility to seek permission in the use of the name, images, sound, and video recordings of all the persons/entities recognizable in the video.
13. No copyrighted materials (music, images, etc.) or trademarks may be used unless the participant owns the copyright or has a license to use the material for this contest.
14. The organizers of the competition do not assume any responsibility for any violation of intellectual property by any participant.
15. By submitting an entry to this competition, the participant agrees to the rules and regulations of the contest. The City Government of Davao reserves the right to publish or display any entry (in whole or part), winning or non-winning, for promotional purposes, with due acknowledgement of the original owner of the video. Such right to use is royalty-free and no payment is, or shall be due to the participant.
16. The organizers reserve the right to amend the contest rules as it deems fit, without prior notice.

17. The decision of the judges is final. However, violation to any of the aforementioned rules and/or non-compliance of the same shall be a ground for automatic disqualification.
18. Finalists will be qualified as candidates for the Special Distinction Award.
