[EVENT HIGHLIGHTS]

The University Learning Resource Center (ULRC) successfully held the โ€œBooks and Bitesโ€ Activity on May 18 and 20, 2026, providing students with light refreshments, warm drinks, and a comfortable study environment during the final examination period.

This initiative was more than just sharing snacks โ€” it served as a reminder that the ULRC values and cares for the well-being of every student. Through moments of sharing, studying, and encouragement, the activity created a warm and supportive atmosphere for everyone preparing for their exams.

One student shared:
โ€œThis program is such a wonderful thing for us students since some students tend to skip breakfast during exam week and the food also taste good. It give us strength to study again.โ€

Feedback like this reminds us how meaningful small acts of care can be during stressful academic days.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the activity a success. Your presence brought warmth, positivity, and encouragement to the ULRC community.

The ULRC remains committed to supporting students not only academically, but also through programs that promote wellness, comfort, and motivation.

See you again at our next Books and Bites experience!

In line with Presidential Proclamation No. 439, National Heritage Month is celebrated every May to honor the rich cultural heritage of the Filipino people. This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œ๐‘น๐’๐’๐’•๐’” ๐’‚๐’๐’… ๐‘ฏ๐’๐’“๐’Š๐’›๐’๐’๐’”: ๐‘ถ๐’–๐’“ ๐‘บ๐’‰๐’‚๐’“๐’†๐’… ๐‘ฏ๐’†๐’“๐’Š๐’•๐’‚๐’ˆ๐’†, ๐‘ถ๐’–๐’“ ๐‘ช๐’๐’๐’๐’†๐’„๐’•๐’Š๐’—๐’† ๐‘ญ๐’–๐’•๐’–๐’“๐’†,โ€ reflects the meaningful connection between our past and the future we continue to shape together.

In celebration of National Heritage Month, the Library invites everyone to immerse themselves in books and resources that highlight and celebrate Philippine history, culture, arts, literature, and heritage. Through this initiative, we encourage greater appreciation and awareness of the nationโ€™s cultural legacy and the importance of preserving it for future generations.

This initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting access to knowledge and lifelong learning, and Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, particularly Target 11.4, which aims to strengthen efforts to protect and safeguard the worldโ€™s cultural and natural heritage.

It began with the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, when millions of people came together to raise awareness about environmental issues. Today, Earth Month
continues to inspire action and reflection on how we can protect
our planet. The theme, "๐™Š๐™ช๐™ง ๐™‹๐™ค๐™ฌ๐™š๐™ง, ๐™Š๐™ช๐™ง ๐™‹๐™ก๐™–๐™ฃ๐™š๐™ฉ", reminds
us that the power to create a healthier, greener world lies in our
hands. From individual efforts to collective action, we all play a
crucial role in shaping the future of our environment.

In honor of Earth Month, weโ€™ve curated a special collection of books just for you! Whether youโ€™re interested in sustainability, conservation, or environmental justice, these reads will empower you to make informed, positive changes for the planet.

This initiative also supports Sustainable Development Goal 4
(Quality Education) by promoting access to knowledge and
lifelong learning, and Sustainable Development Goal 13
(Climate Action) by fostering awareness and collective action for
a more sustainable and resilient planet.

Visit the Spotlight Corner at the Main Library (3rd Floor, CAS
Building) and immerse yourself in these inspiring reads. You
may also browse our OPAC at https://elib.usep.edu.ph/elib/ for additional titles, and visit https://app.myloft.xyz/browse/home to access our digital resources. Letโ€™s read, learn, and take action together to protect the Earth!
