𝐌𝐀𝐘 𝟏𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | The 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 – 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 conducted a meeting with 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗢𝘄𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗻 (𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗕) 𝗜𝗻𝗰. to discuss possible livelihood programs and sustainable community-based initiatives.

LOOB Inc., a non-stock and non-profit organization registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, shared its mission of fostering intercultural and educational exchange between Japanese and Filipino youth while promoting international cooperation and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For several years, the organization has actively implemented community-based initiatives in Iloilo City, particularly through youth and women empowerment programs and environmental advocacy efforts.

The discussion highlighted programs focused on youth and women empowerment, environmental stewardship, and circular economy initiatives that promote long-term sustainability and community resilience.

Through collaboration and a shared commitment, both parties aim to support sustainable development efforts and create more empowered, resilient, and environmentally responsible communities.

𝟑𝐑𝐃 𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 𝐎𝐅 𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐄 𝐈𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐆𝐎: 𝐒𝐊𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐒 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐍 𝐖𝐄𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆— 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟑

𝟏𝟑 𝐌𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 |The participants continue to make progress as they move forward in their learning journey. At this stage, the trainees are already practicing weaving with less supervision, demonstrating greater confidence, focus, and independence in handling the loom.

The session highlights how consistent practice transforms basic skills into true craftsmanship. Every thread woven reflects patience, dedication, and the growing passion of the learners to master the art of hablon weaving.

This livelihood training not only strengthens the participants’ technical skills but also enhances their potential for future income opportunities while helping preserve Iloilo’s rich weaving tradition for future generations.

1𝟐 𝐌𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | The conduct of the Skills Training on Weaving marks another meaningful step in preserving and promoting Iloilo’s rich weaving heritage. Participants have officially began practicing basic weaving techniques as they continue to develop their skills and creativity through hands-on learning at Arevalo Handwoven Products (AHP).

With patience, focus, and determination, the trainees are gradually learning the fundamentals of weaving while appreciating the artistry and cultural value behind every thread and pattern. This training not only provides practical livelihood skills but also inspires participants to become part of the next generation of weavers who will help preserve and sustain the tradition of Hablon in Iloilo City.

𝟏𝟑 𝐌𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | UNA Batch 24th's successfully completed its fifth session, focusing on the vital role of customer service in building sustainable and thriving businesses.

The session was led by 𝗢𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗣. 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲, 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲, who shared valuable insights drawn from her leadership and service experience.

Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, participants were reminded that customer service is more than a function—it is a mindset practiced in every interaction. The Iloilo City Government, through the I𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐋𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐏), in partnership with 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐕𝐈, conducted a Packaging and Labelling Training and One-on-One Consultation for local entrepreneurs and MSMEs.

The activity aimed to help participants develop new or enhanced product packaging and labeling designs to improve market appeal and product presentation. Through expert guidance and personalized consultations, participants gained valuable insights on branding, packaging innovation, regulatory considerations, and strategies to expand market opportunities and strengthen the competitiveness of local products.

The session was led by 𝗢𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗣. 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲, 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 at Iloilo City Community College, who shared valuable insights drawn from her leadership and service experience.

May 11, 2026 | As part of its continuing support interventions for women-led livelihood groups, the Iloilo City Government through the Iloilo City LEDIP Office, in coordination with Angat Buhay and United Nations Development Programme, conducted a Pricing and Costing Training and Workshop for WISE beneficiaries from Lanit, Jaro and San Juan, Molo.

The training served as a crucial and timely intervention as the groups have already started receiving orders and business transactions. Participants were guided on how to properly compute product costs and develop fair, sustainable, and competitive pricing strategies that will benefit both their enterprises and their customers. Special thanks to Ms. Mary Jane Tuares for sharing her expertise, practical insights, and valuable knowledge with the participants.

𝟎𝟕 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | UNA Batch 24th’s fourth session delivered a meaningful learning experience that connected personal growth with real-world responsibilities.

Through the Fish N’ Learn activity, participants reflected on the importance of cultivating the right mindset, remaining focused on their goals, working collaboratively, and creating a positive impact. The session also enhanced their understanding of Financial Management—highlighting the significance of budgeting wisely, allocating resources effectively, managing risks, practicing discipline, and ensuring long-term sustainability.

Just like fishing, success demands patience, preparation, and a clear strategy. Each lesson gained moves participants closer to becoming financially responsible and purpose-driven individuals.
